Description

Chase the sun all year round from this original 1960's classic fibro cottage with surrounding deck & stunning 180 degree ocean view all the way to Wye Point.

Updated with soft, beach theme furnishings this cosy cottage comprises of an open area comprising small lounge with small open fire place adjacent to dining room & kitchen. The entire living space has an outdoor view to the surrounding Otway forest (Otway National Park) or a Great Ocean Road view of Bass Straight and Separation Creek beach.

Bathroom has a small step up, is smaller with shower over bath, separate small vanity. Separate toilet. This charming location is on a hill so the drive is a little steep, the house has stairs to the deck. The elevation greets a beautiful sweeping ocean view. Otway Blue suits 3 guests maximum.

We sincerely hope you enjoy your stay at Otway Blue,  Separation Creek.

Wye River is a minute’s car trip or leisurely 20 minute walk along Great Ocean Road or by walking Paddy’s track.

Wye River General Store supplies groceries and an adjacent cafe services breakfasts, lunches and (seasonal) light evening meals.
The Wye River Hotel also houses a relaxed restaurant serving lunch and dinner.
Wye River has a recreational park with walking track, a bbq and playground.

The surf beach at Wye River is patrolled at different times of the year.
Separation Creek beach is not regularly patrolled.
Please beware of strong currents all surf beaches.


To feed the beautiful local birds – Bird seed can be found in the hall cupboard,
use sparingly  
Please try not to regularly feed the white yellow crested cockatoos as when guests vacate and they are not fed, they can actively cause property damage.

Our local Kookaburras eat raw meat – please TAKE CARE WHEN FEEDING
 

Bins are collected on Monday mornings , if you are vacating on a weekend would you kindly place the bins curbside prior to vacating – we thank you

Regarding the accommodation

Sceptic & Water Tank/s – Limit showers to small time frames ie 3 minutes
& refrain after each & every beach excursion.

Toilet PLS do not flush away any other items, limit fats and oils down the drain and as we have one tank and request guests to please use water carefully.

Open fire place – there is kindling either in basket alongside or in hall cupboard. Wood is located under house .



Gas BBQ – When using the BBQ , please gently roll BBQ outside onto the deck!

To operate, open the main valve on the gas bottle fully by turning
anti-clockwise, then to light the BBQ burners, lightly push in the right hand side knob and turn anti-clockwise to High setting.  Then to light the left hand side burner, lightly push and turn the left hand knob anti-clockwise.
Warning – Never leave the 2 burners on high at the same time with the lid closed.

When finished with the BBQ , please turn off both knobs clockwise and shut off the valve on the gas bottle fully by turning clockwise. Please clean after use – the grill plates can be lifted out, use paper towel off excess residue (limiting fats into septic system) then dissolve with hot water / detergent at kitchen sink..

Open Fire Place - Generally 2 split logs will burn for approximately 1 ½ hours - kindling use ¼ of a bag along with rolled newspaper (in firebox or in kitchen draw) as the starter. Extra wood supply is in hallway cupboard/under house. Please use the metal screen at all times to secure burning firewood , hot embers and hot ash from escaping.

Only use the wooden screen  as an insect screen when the fire place is not in use.Please wrap used ash (following day) in newspaper and dispose of in the rubbish bin – ensure ash is cold

Gas supply – The gas to this property is supplied by 2 LPG gas tanks, these tanks are located outside the rear sliding door at the side of the house. The gas runs from 1 tank only, should you find the stove top or oven isn’t lighting, it is most likely that the tank supplying the gas is empty.  To remedy this, there is a small lever / valve behind the 2 tanks which are covered by a weather protector, simply flick the lever to the other side and this will then allow the gas from the full tank to continue the gas supply.

Portable Electric Heater Bedroom 2 - Switch on at power point and use the
dial on side to choose your setting – When not using would you please ensure the dials are returned back to 0/off and that the appliance is switched off at the wall.

Outdoor umbrella  When not in use would guests kindly wind down the umbrella and secure closed with the ties.

Electric blanket in the master bedroom – please be sure to switch this off  
and switch the power point behind the bed off  when you are vacating

Electric coffee jug –  ground coffee grains please dispose into newspaper then bin and ensure the appliance is switched off at the power point after use

** When vacating please ensure all heating, air conditioning , cooking appliances are switched off and you close the doors and windows. 

Please place bins out if bin collection is next day/early morning applies.
Please also empty fridge and cupboards and draws of your belongings as unfortunately, we can not take responsibility for belongings left at the property.  **

Terms & conditions

The property can comfortably accommodate 2/3 adults maximum or 2 adults/ 1 children but no further occupants are permitted to stay over at the premises other than the maximum (2-3) specified during guests's stay.  
There is no bed or towel linen or shampoo/conditioners supplied.  
The house and kitchen is fully self-contained with all required utensils supplied including tea/coffee, toilet paper, paper towels, tea-towels, sponges and house cleaning products. 

There are stairs to climb to access the house.  The driveway is slightly narrow and is also on slight slope.  There is no garage or carport at the property.
Unfortunately this property doesn't accommodate pets. There is no structural fencing surrounding the property.

No smoking inside is permitted. If smoking outside guests are to dispose of thorughtfully cigarette butts.. There are no ashtrays supplied.

No large gatherings or parties are permitted and we request guests to respect the neighbours by keeping noise level to a minimum.
We request guests to please respect the property amenities and please leave the property tidy when vacating..
Guests are take care of their belongings as we cannot the guarantee of care of items left at the premises after vacation.

Guests we request to please read and follow the instructions carefully regarding use of appliances in the property , advised in attached "Welcome' folder.

The owners reserve the right due to an unforseable circumstance only (extremely rare) , to cancel the accommodation with notice to the guests no less than 24 hours and refund all monies.

"Great Home with Really great Views" If you want a nice, clean, and happy space, then this place is for you! Great views out to sea, everything you need for a home away from home. You can walk to the beach, and its a nice walk along the water to Wye River
