Stone's Throw Cottage B&B

Our self-contained cosy 1 bedroom cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway.. It's a combined bedroom/living room area with one queen bed and 1 sofa-bed. It has an ensuite bathroom, a kitchenette, a gas-log fire and an A/C.

The bathroom has a shower, basin, toilet, hair dryer and wardrobe.

The self-catering kitchenette will have light continental breakfast provisions for you to prepare yourself and enjoy either inside the cottage or outside on the patio. Included is a fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, hotplate and large electric frying pan. Electric barbeque is on the balcony deck.

Large patio outside is perfect for enjoying a glass of wine on arrival or a casual breakfast or dinner (weather permitting of course)

There is also an undercover small balcony which extends down to the large open patio.  Street parking is in a very quiet no through road. Shared laundry (small charge) is available if you’re staying longer. Included also are special touches of chocolates, fresh flowers and a small basket of fresh fruit.

Breakfast includes tea, coffee, juice, cereals, sour dough bread., fruit toast, yogurt and fruit. There are also a number of restaurants within a 10-minute walk.

Short drive to Grant's Picnic Ground and Micawber Tavern. Enjoy the quiet country surroundings of our little cottage nestled in a one acre garden. Feed the birds from your own private deck or enjoy outdoor dining on your patio. Relax and watch the visiting cockatoos, rosellas and kookaburras.

Tastefully decorated in a modern country style. The open plan living/bedroom area has a cozy gas log fire in Winter, polished floors, comfy wrought iron bed, A/C in Summer, dbl sofa-bed, TV/DVD with in-house movies, modern kitchenette + bathroom. Linen, robes, towels, hair dryer and toiletries included. Double French doors open out to a small deck and larger patio for outdoor dining. Light continental breakfast provisions will be set up in your room and included in the price. For 7+ night stays breakfast is provided for 1-2 mornings only. Shared laundry is available for a small charge.

Close to all attractions. 15 minutes by car to the summit of Mt Dandenong, and 50-60 minutes by car or train to Flinders St or Southern Cross Stations in Melbourne.

A short walk to Belgrave shops/restaurants, train and bus stations and some wonderful restaurants. Drive to Grant's Picnic Ground to feed the local bird life. Catch a ride on Puffing Billy through a forest filled with Mountain Ash trees and tree gullies to Emerald Lake. Maybe extend your train ride to Gembrook. Short drive to National Rhodedendron Gardens, William Rickets Sanctuary, Mt Dandenong Observatory and the quaint villages of Sassafras and Olinda.

We can accommodate 2 people in our cottage and another 2 people in our private studio (listed separately). So if there's a wedding or function you are going to and you would like to have your family members all together, please call to discuss your options.
