Description

The Beach House has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a double and one single bed sleeping a maximum of five guests. Couples will be given the queen bedroom but should you require two beds please specify and the alternate bedroom will be made available. There is a fully-equipped kitchen where you can prepare delicious fresh local seafood.

Decor features include original art, wood-panelled walls, polished timber floors, deep sofas and comfortable deck chairs. There is convenient electric heating as well as the special warmth of an open fire. Games, a selection of movies and music, gas barbecue, boogie boards and wetsuits are all provided. From the open deck there are sweeping views of Georges Bay and the surrounding hills. It's a short stroll on a private track to a secluded bay side beach.

On entering the Beach House you are immediately drawn to the front deck and the stunning views over Georges Bay; your only company are the pelicans and kookaburras and the occasional sea eagle soaring above the majestic gum trees. The nearby holiday houses are obscured by bush and there is only a secluded, winding track between you and the bayside beach. The weatherboard seaside shacks which nestle into the gums above the beach are out of a time warp somewhere in the 1950's - no beachside mansions and no crowded car parks.

The Beach House itself is weatherboard with polished floors, white walls, furnishings in shades of blue and an eclectic collection of original art. The mood is modern but a few pieces of furniture are definitely retro as the Beach House has jealously guarded some of the furniture it started out with in the 1960's. As the owners love to visit too, many guests comment on the feeling of stepping into a much loved family retreat with many touches that make the Beach House a world away from your standard holiday unit but without any undue family clutter!

The Beach House at St Helens complies with local council regulations for holiday rentals. It holds a current Fire Safety Certificate, Disabled access and Public Liability Insurance. Your comfort and safety are assured. The Beach House at St Helens is also accredited with Tasmanian Regional Tourism.

Location:

Activities in the area include exploring the world renowned Bay of Fires just a stones throw to the north, fishing charters in Georges Bay or offshore game fishing; surfing, sailing and walking on coastal and mountain tracks. Enjoy the untouched beauty of the St Helens Conservation area including the beautiful Beer Barrel Beach. Drive north to the magnificent beaches of the Bay of Fires or inland to Pyengana with its cheese factory, Pub in the Paddock and spectacular St Columba Falls.

"Perfect getaway." Charming little cottage with great views across the water and distant mountains. Very clean and cosy and the open fire at night was an added bonus for a winter stay. The perfect place to get away and unwind and the 2 nights we stayed was too short. Helen was very accommodating and helpful. We will definitely be back. Thanks.

"Great cottage, loved it here" Sitting on the deck in the afternoons with a nice cold beverage and nibbles was the best. Such a relaxing place to stay. Very quiet and peaceful. Loved flicking through books and magazines. Heaps of DVD's too. Beautiful garden all around you. Would definitely stay here again

"Comfortable and cosy. Everything you need for a quiet and peaceful holiday. Warm and very inviting." This was our second stay at the beach house. We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing time there. The beach is only a few minutes away down a bush track. The open fire makes for cosy evenings, great for curling up with a good book. We absolutely feel at home there. Very welcoming beach house.

What a beautiful place to stay at St. Helens. Really enjoyed the ambience of this property. There was a lovely open fireplace to relax in front of as well as loads of character in the building itself. The view from the back deck over the Bay was also beautiful. I would highly recommend to others.
