TIPS TO HELP YOU ENJOY YOUR STAY

Cottage Amenities:

If you eat outside of your cottage/with friends in another cottage, could you please clean and return all cookware, crockery and cutlery, together with any furniture, to your cottage.

Damage or Breakages:

All damages and breakages must be paid for.

Farm Roads:

Farm roads have been constructed for 4x4 & farm equipment in mind and are classed as “private” and “off road” by most insurance companies. We do not recommend guests drive their vehicle (or hire car) on any property farm road. In most cases insurance companies will not cover accidents or damage whilst on these roads. We accept no liability for any damages to your vehicle driven or stranded on any farm/access road.

Food Waste:

Our chickens would be delighted to eat any food you intend to dispose of during or at the conclusion of your stay. If you or your children do not wish to feed them personally, please leave it in a plastic bag on the kitchen counter and we will make sure the chooks get to enjoy it.

Non-Smoking:

For the comfort of guests all accommodation at Silver Ridge Retreat is non-smoking.  Due to the high risk of fire, please also refrain from smoking in the bush and farmland areas.

Smoking is permitted outside, adjacent to cottages.

Parking:

Please ensure your vehicle does not obstruct the road for other guests. Many guests leave the resort at very early hours to make the most of their day.

Recycling:

Please use the supplied tray for recycling.

Spa Baths:

If your cottage has one, please do not fill the spa baths more than 10 cm above the jets as operation of the Spa beyond this level may flood the cottage.

Supervision of children:

Please watch your children at all times, they are your responsibility.

Toilet System:

We use a Septic Toilet System.   Please do not flush anything inorganic other than toilet paper.  Sanitary bags are available in the vanity.

Valuables:

Whilst we have no record of theft since acquiring this resort in the mid 1990’s we do not accept responsibility for your valuables.

Water Supply:

Water is sourced from spring-fed dams and is both filtered and UV treated (chemical free) to remove all bacteria/viruses. However we are required by law to advise you to boil the water for 3 minutes for drinking purposes.

We thank all guests for their cooperation in leaving the cottage clean and tidy.   We hope to see you back soon.

"Room with a stunning view!" If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, self contained cottage accommodation option this is where you need to be. You can expect a welcoming owner, child friendly activities and a picture perfect location. Highly recommended as the location is central to many of Tasmania’s tourist attractions and this, combined with the owner’s knowledge of the area, will ensure visitors are able to take in all the area has to offer. Our cottage had a spa and a wood heater which made for a perfect evening. We will be returning sometime very soon.

"Cosy country cabins with character" Idyllic rural setting with farmland, rainforest, hills and even an old silver mine to explore. So relaxing! And the rustic cabins are cosy; we loved the log fire on a crisp autumn evening. Note this is 11km from the small country town of Sheffield and 40km from Cradle Mountain National Park.
