THE PERFECT PLACE TO EXPLORE EDEN VALLEY AND BEYOND Our three cottages and The Homestead provide totally private escapes that merge the beauty of stone with all the contemporary amenities and touches to make your stay remarkable. The Kuchel family built our homestead and outbuildings in the 1860s. We have rebuilt the old Kuchel stone dairy to create two adjoining, fully self-contained cottages we have named them Sunset and Dawn to match the best views you can capture from their private outdoor areas.

We have also restored a very old stone building to create The Stables, the ultimate in pampering, with generous proportions, a private garden, cathedral skylights, luxury spa and cosy wood combustion fire. At certain times of the year when we are not in residence, we offer the Homestead for short-term residential use. If you are looking for a peaceful country experience with all of the comforts of home, the Homestead offers everything you¿ll need for a relaxing break.

Each is beautifully appointed with a blend of new and antique furniture, polished timber floors, textural stone and mini orb ceilings for added warmth and charm. All feature private parking and outdoor areas with heaters and BBQs, In short, everything you need to (big deep breath in and out) really relax.

Travel Directions

When travelling south through Springton toward Mt Pleasant drive about 4km before you see the signage to Peter Seppelts Grand Cru Winery at R.Dewells Rd. Turn right and travel 1.7km to Laubes Rd and you have arrived. Make another right into Laubes Rd and our driveway entry is 50m on your right, opposite the winery. When travelling north from Mt Pleasant toward Springton and Eden Valley travel about 5km before noticing the Grand cru Winery signs and turn left into R.Dewells Rd, following the above directions from there. Google maps have our location pinpointed correctly.

1. Use by Paying Guests Only

Our facilities are for the use and enjoyment of paying guests only. We do not allow pets.

If you wish to invite another person/s to visit you during your stay you need to make arrangements to do so with us as we incur additional costs (both directly and through wear and tear) if additional people use the Cottage facilities and grounds.

Our facilities are not to be used as a venue to get ready for a wedding or event involving attendance by people who are not paying guests.  In special circumstances we may allow them to be used for that purpose, subject to certain conditions and payment of an additional fee.  Please contact us to enquire. 

The advertised rate is for domestic use only and not commercial. Accordingly the advertised rate does not allow for the extra wear associated with functions in terms of cleaning, utility usage, garbage removal, wear and tear, repairs etc. Parties and functions are strictly prohibited.

We hold approvals and insurances which allow us to accommodate a maximum number of 10 people - 4 in Sunset  Cottage & The Stables, 2 in Dawn Cottage. It is a condition of booking that these numbers are not exceeded.

2. Take Reasonable Care

All care is to be taken when using anything in the Cottage and while in the grounds. Important Safety and Emergency Information is provided in the Cottage. It is a condition of booking that all guests read and understand the important safety information that is provided and to take all reasonable care during their stay.   Repair costs of accidental or willful damage will be charged against the credit card given as security.

3. Respect for the Facilities and Other Guests

The Cottages and grounds are part of our home. We would appreciate it if you respect them as if they were your own. Also respect the privacy of other guests and their enjoyment of the property by keeping noise in the grounds to a minimum.   Our Cottages are non smoking.

4. Clean and Tidy Condition

The Cottage is to be left in a clean and tidy condition as you found it. Place all rubbish in the bins provided, wipe kitchen surfaces with the cloth provided, and either use the dishwasher provided to clean your dishes and glasses or hand wash them in the sink with the cleaning detergent provided. Grounds are  to be left tidy and free of rubbish/cigarettes/bottles and the like.  All additional cleaning will be charged at $40/hour against the credit card given as security.

Terms & conditions

A booking is not confirmed until the full amount of the booking fee is paid and our Guest's Details form completed. The Guest's Details form can be found on our web site together with our full Terms and Conditions document.  A booking will only be held for 48hrs, awaiting payment.  If the booking fee is not paid in that time the booking will be cancelled.

Payment constitutes the guest's acceptance of these Terms & Conditions and those published on our web site. We do not require a bond, however, on arrival you will be required to produce a credit card to be recorded for security purposes. It will be used to pay for any additional costs incurred, including but not limited to, any breakage, damage or excess cleaning requirements, extra guests beyond those declared, ie Any breach of conditions.

ANY BREACH OF THESE CONDITIONS MAY RESULT IN IMMEDIATE TERMINATION OF RENTAL, WIHOUT REFUND,  AT THE SOLE DISCRETION OF THE OWNER.

"Excellent!" Set in picturesque hills away from the main roads. Feels isolated but is just a short drive from towns wineries etc. Really comfortable, clean, cosy, relaxing cottage. And delightful hosts. Hope to stay there again. S&J

"Spoilt for luxury." We arrived late in the evening to a warm cottage, Our hosts had lit the wood heater and met us in the drive to direct us to our cottage. Wine, home made bread and farm fresh eggs were a few of the welcoming surprises we discovered. We had a wonderful relaxing weekend away.

"Luxury in a country setting" We had absolutely wonderful experience. This is 6 stars Luxury accommodation in disguise of a country cottage. We were greeted by warm, beautifully appointed rooms, fully renovated bathrooms with all accessories such as hair dryer and very good quality toiletries. In the superbly appointed equipped with new stainless steel pans and frying pans we found freshly home-baked bread and a dozen of eggs from local produce. Cupboards had all cutlery and rich collection of condiments necessary to unleash master-chef level of culinary creativity. In fridge there was a bottle of splendid locally made Riesling wine and a there was a carafe of port wine and chocolates on the lounge table enough to enjoy it the whole weekend. Not too mention a coffee expresso machine with milk frothing add on to it. Dishwasher took care of plates after our dinner creations. Hassle free! And the views from the deck on the meadows around! We had birds chirping all mornings while enjoying country style breakfasts and once a kangaroo gracefully hopped by. In conclusion -we will come again and sincerely recommend the place to anybody who values tranquillity while being encompassed in luxury. Big kudos to the owners!
