The Buxton Manor is a stunning 1909 restored large Mansion built in the William Morris ‘Arts & Craft’ theme of decorative red brick with steep sloping roof lines. It houses our best collection of Australian antiques and memorabilia and features open log fires, polished spruce floors, decorative fireplaces, marbleized ceilings, rag rolled faux paint finishes, ornate ceiling roses, gilt mirrors and sumptuous antique beds. One of the fathers of the Australian Constitution Sir Josiah Symons lived in the Manor during the winter months, tended by his butler, chauffeur, cook and maids!

Buxton Manor features 4 separate very large apartments and 1 spa cottage, all of which offer private entrances, bathrooms, fully equipped kitchens, unique living areas and valuable rare furnishings.

It is surrounded by half an acre of very manicured, welcoming gardens with masses of old fashioned scented roses, cottage flowers and sweeping lawns. It has been heritage listed by the government and completely restored by your hosts, Rodney & Regina Twiss. 

On a warmer day enjoy relaxing in the half an acre of manicured gardens with outdoor designer furniture, umbrella's and 2 wood fire BBQs, or for cooler days request an apartment with an open fire place. Any time of the year you can enjoy a Grand lifestyle at Buxton Manor.

The Butlers features two master bedrooms, huge heritage bathroom, club drawing room, full kitchen, cellar dining room and sunroom.
Garden & Loft is a fully self contained, 3 bedroom apartment offering a full kitchen, separate living room, with French doors opening out to sweeping lawns.
Paprika Cottage features 1 queen size bedroom, bathroom with 2 person spa, kitchen, sitting room and front private latticed porch.

Accommodation Specifications & Room Configurations

All accommodation at North Adelaide Heritage Group is unique.

We use criteria prevalent in the Australian Tourism Industry and specifically used by the South Australian Tourism Commission.

The total charge depends upon how many persons share the accommodation used.

Any additional guests must be registered with our office. Additional charges apply.

  • Twin/ Double prices relate to one or two people sharing a King, Queen, Double or Twin beds in the ONE bedroom.
  • Should one of the two persons (above) in the same accommodation wish to have a SEPARATE bedroom, the extra adult charge always applies.
  • Extra adult prices are based on sharing the accommodation with another adult(s) in a SEPARATE bedroom.
  • Single prices are based on a person having their own bedroom.
  • Child prices are based on children aged between 0-12 years sharing the accommodation with their parents. In most cases they will have their own room.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations notified more than 30 days prior to arrival will be entitled to a full refund less a $55Aus administration fee.

Cancellations notified less than 30 days prior to arrival will forfeit all monies paid. You may use the deposit as a credit for future accommodation within 12 month period from the date of the original booking.

All cancellations are to be in writing.

Any alterations to length of stay ie. shortening of period booked, will be charged for full period unless 30 days notice is given prior to arrival.

Travel insurance is recommended for all bookings to provide adequate protection against cancellation of travel or loss of belongings.

If after arrival your accommodation does not meet your requirements our office must be informed immediately.

Stayed in the Garden & Loft apartment...there were 6 of us. We loved the old furniture ... The heating had been left on for us, so it was lovely & warm. We appreciate being able to stay in such a lovely building. Everything was there for us but sadly we were only able to stay for one night. The gardens are beautiful & we wished for fine weather to use them, but it was quite rainy. Never mind, they were lovely to look at. We would recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting an experience such as this.

We loved the ambiance and history of the manor. No request was too difficult. We were treated very well and want to go back again soon.
