Description
Wait-a-While Daintree in Daintree, Cape Tribulation is one of the largest single dwellings ever constructed in the Daintree Rainforest. Designed by award-winning, South-African architect Gavin Paddock, and modelled on the traditional New Guinean long-house, Wait-a-While Daintree provides almost 500 square metres of living space.
The building, completed in 1993, contains more than 100 tonnes of timber and is finished with materials sourced from southern Queensland, South Africa, Kashmir, New Guinea and the United States.
Comfortably sleeping 9 guests, the property has 3 bedrooms downstairs consisting of 2 x king bedrooms plus a bedroom that has 2 king singles and a trundle pullout. Upstairs on the mezzanine level there is a queen bed.
There are 2 bathrooms inside the house, as well as a shower outside by the pool.

We enjoyed a wonderful few days at Wait a While which is in a perfect location to explore the Daintree and Cape Tribulation. Walking distance to the beautiful Cow Bay Beach. The retreat is well equipped with lots of nice touches to make your stay more comfortable and relaxing. A beautiful pool in a rainforest setting with a lovely deck to enjoy the sun and hear/see the birds and butterflies. Certainly recommend.

An amazing place...has a wilderness hut sort of feel (but a very large one!) nestled in amongst the dense Daintree rainforest. We got the hang of living without a microwave or toaster and loved the pool and the pool table. It's a lovely stroll down to Cow Bay and an easy drive to lots of other attractions.

"Wonderful stay in the forest" Wait a while is a beautiful house in the Daintree Rain Forest. There is some wonderful personal touch at this house, which makes it very homely. It really felt like being at home. Thank you for the flowers(Colourful leaves) in the bathroom and other places. Wooden house, with wide verandahs. Well tended garden and swimming pool. 8 minutes walk to Cowbay. It was very pleasant to stay here for 4 days. Very good location to visit this wonderful area in Queensland. Don't miss the Daintree Ice cream factory among other wonderful attractions!!
