Description
Watersmeet is a nature lover's paradise, blessed with many rare wilderness habitats protected by the S.E. Queensland Regional Eco-Plan and private access to the adjoining Bellthorpe National Park. It is also a part of Land for Wildlife, a nation-wide conservation program that supports the maintenance and enhancement of native flora and fauna. Our guests have spotted wild goannas, wallabies, echidna, even koalas, and countless bird species to name a few. For those interested in taking time to understand the bush tucker, there are mushrooms, ginger, rasberries and many species that can be eaten throughout the property.
The property is blessed with rolling pastures, tropical rainforests, dams and waterholes as well as forests of black butt and tallow wood that can be explored on 8 different trails. On the Knoll, the highest point at Watersmeet, you can enjoy 360 degree views of the ocean, Glasshouse Mountains and the Conondale Valley - a panorama that is absolutely unique in the region.
With pristine nature at its doorstep, the self-contained Watersmeet home is a modern sanctuary suited to all our guests' needs. It accommodates up to 10 people and offers stylish simplicity with a personal touch. Behind and around the home are vegetable and herb gardens, as well as a low maintenance rainforest garden that is a natural extension of the adjacent landscape. Cherry guava, coffee, mulberry, banana, bay leaf, sasparilla and bush lemon trees also surround the home for you to pick your own tasty snacks.
Both children and adults love watching the cattle and horses, feeding the chickens and geese near the house, and perhaps even finding some fresh eggs in the morning. You can wake up to a breathtaking sunrise, picnic under a canopy of palms, cuddle up by the fire, or spot your favorite constellations on a cool, crisp night. For a change of pace, the charming town of Maleny is only 15 minutes away for you to enjoy its restaurants and boutiques.

"Great family holiday" This is a well appointed house in a beautiful location. The children (2 families) were able to roam free without adult supervision. Bike riding was a huge success. The property is an easy drive to Australia Zoo and to the Maleny Aviary.

"Wonderful weekend retreat for large groups with kids" We had a lovely time at Watersmeet and it suited our party (4 couples and 4 children under 6) just perfectly. The bedrooms are all spacious and the living areas suit large groups. The lounge and large deck were especially excellent for wandering toddlers. It is a very tranquil setting on the farm with lots of different walks to go exploring. The kids loved the daily checks on the chickens and collecting their eggs. Access to the house was initially held up as it wasn't until we arrived that we realised we hadn't been sent the automated message from HomeAway with a key box code. But we managed to get hold of the owner after 20min or so. We should have realised we were missing this information before we arrived but it had been a long week. Only suggestion is perhaps keep more toilet paper at the house for large groups and/or longer stays as we had to buy more. We will definitely want to come back here

"What a weekend" We had a fantastic weekend. From the moment we arrived we were totally blown away by the view and the size of property as well. We had 3 families including children and it felt very spacious with plenty of space and seating around the fire for some end of day beverages. The dining room/kitchen also had plenty of seating and the deck was huge and was a great place to sit and take in the views. The property itself was great, the kids loved seeing the cows and going exploring through the many walking trails, they loved racing each other back up the hill to the house (the adults were a bit slower). The view from the knoll at the top of the property is just breathe taking, it is easily accessible by foot or an easy drive up. Watersmeet had everything we needed, it came with plenty of fire wood for the weekend. We will be back next winter. Thanks again for your hospitality.
