Description

Corroboree Houseboats are situated on the calm waters of Corroboree Billabong, approximately ninety minutes drive southeast from Darwin. Come and experience the beauty of the wetlands and the wilderness of this pristine river system. Whether it be exploring, fishing or sightseeing, do it from the comfort of your own houseboat. Cruise aboard Houseboats with showers, gas barbeques, fridges, double suites, single bunks and more! Party Boats are great for groups of up to ten or twenty and Leisure Boats are suited for groups of six or less. Fishing boats are available too, great for fishing runoffs and the Rockhole.

The Northern Territories Corroboree Billabong is part of a network of Billabongs formed along the Mary River once the wet season "run-off" is over.

More than 40 kilometres of waterways becomes a protected gathering place for a vast variety of wetland wildlife including the famous Barramundi.

Large populations of Saltwater crocodiles are found here too, even buffalo and wild horses have been spotted on the banks.

Many varieties of migratory birds can be seen and heard, such as magpie geese, owls and black cockatoos.

Rainbow Fish, Saratoga and Tarpon fish species are also common in the Billabong.

The vegetation consists of a range of pandanas, paperbarks and water lilly as well as many wetland reeds and grasses.

"An amazing experience, well worth it." I'd have to say that being on a houseboat on the Mary River is one of the most memorable and awesome experiences we have ever had. It was absolutely magical waking up to the birds at sunrise and seeing the river come to life - including seeing crocodiles in their natural environment. The owners were extremely helpful and encouraged us to contact them if we ran into any difficulties... which we did! Their knowledge on how to manage insects at dusk and advice was greatly appreciated. The bed was very comfortable and linen nice and clean.

"Peaceful way to explore the Mary River" Loved the opportunity to get up close to birds and crocodiles (safely!) in this beautiful natural environment. Very peaceful with not many other people around. The houseboats were comfortable and easy to drive. Kids loved fishing. Two nights was perfect for us (family of four)
