Things to do
The special thing about Wallaby Creek Cottage is that there isn't a "things to do" list. Just relax. Sit and and enjoy a drink and look at the view. Talk. Read. Relax. Sleep. Walk. Cook. Watch the flames in the fireplace, the kangaroos in the paddock, the cattle grazing, the creek flow over the rocks. Take in the complete peace and quiet.
You are welcome to walk over the 500 acres of the farm, explore the creek, go birdwatching, and even venture to some special places in the National Park.
Locally, it is a short drive to Tooloom National Park, World Heritage Rainforest, which has an excellent easy rainforest walk of about 30 minutes length. There is also Tooloom Falls, which is a good spot for a picnic, and Bean Creek Falls, which are impressive when the creeks are in full flow. At Paddy's Flat there is nice swimming in the Clarence River. There are local rock-climbing areas and aboriginal heritage sites.
Further afield are the local towns of Woodenbong by the border ranges and Killarney, with Queen Mary Falls on the plateau above Killarney. To the west is wine and fruit region of Stanthorpe and Tenterfield.
Still, you might like to just relax.
