Things To Do
Nelson Bay is the largest town and overlooks the port and busy Marina. Although the waterways, sand dunes and their rich biodiversity are the major attractions in Port Stephens, the area has so much to offer for everyone. Imagine boom netting with one of the over 160 resident Bottlenose dolphins in the 'Dolphin Watch Capital of Australia'; observing koalas in their natural habitat or the magnificent humpback whales (from May to November); exploring the massive coastal desert wilderness of the Stockton Bight sand dunes (only a 10 min drive away) on a quad bike adventure or 4WD tour, or riding a sand-board. Swim, surf, or relax at one of the 26 golden sandy beaches; snorkel or scuba dive (learners and experienced) in pristine unspoiled waters; or take a scenic walk in the beautiful Tomaree National Park. Other activities include horse and camel riding, parasailing, safe boating and sailing, fantastic fishing (including game and deep sea), local wineries, jet skiing, kayaking, Toboggan Hill Park, produce farms, Oakville Farm & Fauna World, cinemas, sporting and social clubs, tenpin bowling, tennis, golf courses and driving range. Enjoy shopping at the wonderful selection of surf-wear shops, furniture and local art shops, and touristy type shops. In November, Nelson Bay hosts the Taste of the Bay food and wine festival. Dine at one the exquisite restaurants or cafes or picnic by the water's edge.

The room was very clean and layout looks great. Air conditioner did not work (not very comfortable when you are menopausal!). Maybe the remote didn’t try it 10pm). shower brilliant! didn’t like that I thought I was booking online straight to the motel and not through a third party so it might be a good idea to ensure this is easily seen on the website. I would have preferred to give the booking fee to the motel! If I had of realised this I would have telephoned to make my booking.

"Exceptional" We came up from Sydney to Nelson Bay for the Tomaree trail run. The Admiral Nelson was a last minute booking and we were pleased that we still managed to get top rated accommodation. Location was perfect!! We could walk up to Wests and then down to the Little Boat House for dinner. Plus, it was just a 5 minute drive into Nelson Bay and to Fingal Bay for the trail run. Chev and the team were great and were more than happy to accommodate a late check-out so I could shower after the trails! Basic accommodation but very clean, comfy bed and massive TV! Everything we needed. Will definitely stay again when it’s warmer so we can enjoy the pool :-)
