Golden Mile Super Pit Lookout
By day or night, the Super Pit mine is a spectacular sight. Get a glimpse of Australia’s largest open cut mine, with its massive mining trucks dwarfed from great heights. It’s 3.5 kms long and 1.5 kms wide, and the most popular site in the region.
What a gorgeous place to recharge your batteries. Set on 26 hectares, the Arboretum offers wonderful spaces to picnic under the shady river gums, walking trails amongst native eucalyptus, and there’s a dam that attracts stunning water birds.
Boulder Town Hall
Step back in time, to the days of pressed metal ceilings and wrought iron balustrades. Here you’ll find the intricate hand painted Bay of Naples scene on the 'Goatcher Curtain’, the world’s last surviving example of a working stage curtain.
Karlkurla Bushland Park
Refresh your body and soul amongst 200 hectares of superb bushland and wildflowers. Karlkurla is the perfect spot to picnic or explore 4kms of walking trails and stunning native plants.
Royal Flying Doctor Visitor Centre
Get a glimpse of how the legendary Royal Flying Doctors Service operates from its base at the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Airport. A theatre screens real-life footage of the RFDS in action. If you’re lucky enough, get a close look at the state of the art planes.
Boulder Pharmacy Museum
A fascinating display of old surgical instruments, cameras and film developing kits is among the many treasures here. Medicines of days gone by show how far science has come. Be amused by the story of its quirky owner.
