Though it was built in the late 1980s, with all the modern comforts, Holberry House was inspired by the classic, two-storey English manor. Its seven very comfortable ensuite rooms, all upstairs, are decorated in romantic country style, enhanced by antiques and collectibles from the owners' travels. All ensuite rooms have a television. One room is equipped with a spa.
Downstairs, the guest lounge harks back to travellers' lodges of the 19th Century, with its open fire, stone chimney and Chesterfield couch. At the opposite end of the lounge, a reading nook offers comfy chairs, books, magazines and games. Breakfast is served in the dining room, with doors opening onto the gardens. A continental buffet breakfast is included in the tariff and cooked breakfasts are available at an additional cost.
The gardens of Holberry House are an escape in themselves, with plenty of nooks to relax and read a bookl or just to watch the world pass by. There is colour in every season, with the Holberry Sculpture Walk showcasing works of WA artists and bringing a flair of creativity and innovation to the landscape. The lower gardens are a perfect location for a wedding or special event.Perched near the top of the hill, and surrounded on all sides by tall trees, is the large swimming pool, with its tranquil gazebo. Holberry House is within walking distance to shops, Cafes, and the Hotel, as well as river and bush walk trails. The world famous Munda Biddi Trail and Bibbulmun Track pass nearby and offer fantastic cycling and walking deep in the jarrah and karri forests.
Areas of interest in the area include art/craft shops, woodturning studios, chestnut and marron farms, Barrabup Pool and Cambray Cheese Farm, featuring sheep's cheese. With Mowen Rd now open direct to Margaret River there are some wonderful wineries open only 40 minutes drive away.
