The Whales are Here and Putting on a Show

June to October is whale watching season in Albany ( home of Australia's last whaling station.)

It's not unusual to be able to see whales frolicking a short walk from Albany Holiday units as they can often be seen from Middleton Beach. Another good spot to see them is from the lookouts around Marine Drive.  But to see them closer up - and enjoy an informative commentary we recommend you take a Whale Watching Cruise.

Albany has two very good Whale Watching Tour operators and we can arrange your booking with either cruise company. We suggest you book your Whale Watching Cruise early in your stay in Albany as they are of course dependent on weather conditions and if you are unfortunate enough not to see a whale, you will be offered a free cruise until you do.

Albany Ocean Adventures has been operating under the name "Silver Star" Cruises since 1990 and prides itself with the service they offer on the largest, fastest and most comfortable vessel operating in Albany.

Albany Whale Tours  on the purpose built Sail-A-Way with its 360 degree walkway allows you to "walk on water" close to the whales

Cruises leave each morning  at 9:30am - subject to weather conditions with a 1pm afternoon cruise available depending on demand and minimum numbers

The new Marina and jetty is located in front of Albany's new Entertainment Centre. This is where the whale cruises leave from.
