Situated amongst historic dairy-farming country, in the heart of the picturesque Margaret River wine appellation, Bussells Bushland Cottages is a gazetted “Land for Wildlife” property. The rustic charm of our 8 well-appointed (self-contained) rammed-earth cottages is complemented by the natural (20 hectare) bush block. The property is well treed with jarrah, marri, banksia and peppermint trees; and is home to prolific birdlife, possums, brush-tailed phascogales (wambengers), bandicoots and kangaroos.
With its easy accessibility and convenience to all of the region’s delights, Bussells Bushland Cottages remains the property of choice for many hundreds of visitors to the region. They love the tranquillity of the bush block and come back again and again.
All 8 cottages are of rammed-earth construction with private facilities, 2 bedrooms, a sitting area, dining facilities, fully-equipped kitchen and covered front verandah.
All cottages are self-contained with colour TV, DVD player, CD player/radio, refrigerator, gas stove, microwave, crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, glassware, electric kettle and toaster. A pot belly stove provides heating in winter, with supplies of wood kept on the back verandah. An outdoor setting and a gas-fired barbeque are located on the front verandah.
2 have a queen-sized bed in both bedrooms, 4 have a queen in the main bedroom and 2 X singles in the other and the remaining 2 have a queen in the main bedroom and 2 X double bunks in the other (and are ideal for families). Where 1 or 2 guests book, it will be assumed that the booking is for a single or twin / double and the 2nd bedroom will be locked. If you require the use of the 2nd bedroom for any reason, extra bed charges will apply.
Pets are not permitted, this being a gazetted “Land for Wildlife” property.
Walk trails criss-cross the bush block which has wonderful stands of old-growth jarrah, marri, banksia and peppermint trees, as well as being home to a wide variety of bird life and mobs of kangaroos. We provide a simple "starter" breakfast for the first morning, otherwise this is a self-catering property.
It's a 5 minute drive to Margaret River's numerous cafes, restaurants and bars; and there are 3 supermarkets supplying everything you might need during your stay. We're also within easy driving distance of all major features of the region and provide exclusive north and south itineraries (and a range of special offers) which will add value to your stay. Wi-Fi is available free-of-charge (for up to 2 devices). Although limited, it should be adequate for e-mails and web browsing. Guests staying 2+ nights will receive a free bottle of Redgate wine.
