Settle in and there's no need move - sit back on the verandah out front and watch the beautiful King Parrots and Crimson Rosellas come and feed. Take a leisurely stroll through the bush - or a major hike to the coast! Have a fun game of pool in the recreation area while waiting for the BBQ to fire up. You can even try your hand at yabbying from our well stocked dam - yum! Our farm animals are always interested in anyone who looks as if they might be bringing them something to eat. The chickens can normally come up with something to reward such attentions...eggs are finders keepers!
Our four self contained cottages are surrounded by native bush land and are spread across 16 acres giving you a great sense of privacy. We are proud of the accolades we receive for our pet friendly nature, setting up beds for dogs with blankets, bowls and home made treats inside for our canine guests.
We are surrounded by the many locally grown and produced food and wine outlets of the Otway Harvest Trail. Some of our favourites are Dinny Goonan Wines and Blakes Estate wineries, the beautiful Lake Elizabeth where you will find platypus in the wild, Bespoke Harvest restaurant, Forrest Brewing Company for boutique style beer and great food, Farm Foods Birregurra for some fabulous wood fired oven pizza, GORGE chocolates a little further afield...well worth the trip and just up the road a little from the amazing 12 apostles. The famous Brae restaurant is less than 15 minutes drive from your cottage.
A short drive to the coast brings you to all the excitement that the Great Ocean Road has to offer...Lorne for it's fabulous beaches and restaurants, Anglesea, Fairhaven etc for their great swimming and surfing, the Great Ocean Walk and the Surfcoast Walk. We can fill you in on where to find a koala or two in the wild. Cape Otway Lighthouse is another must see as well as the stunning Melba Gully and Maits Rest walks.
Birregurra is a quaint township just 15 minutes drive away full of interesting shops and lovely outlets for foodies. Deans Marsh, 10 minutes in a different direction offers some great live music on the weekends at the cleverly named Martians cafe (you could try one of their pizzas - Saturn or Venus are our favourites!!)
