THINGS TO SEE AND DO
Its almost time for the Whales to visit Warnambool. There have been reports across Australia that the Whales have started their migration earlier this year due to warmer waters. They usually reach Warrnambool in late May/Early June but we've been told to expect whale watching in Warnambool to start any day now. Almost every year between June and September, female Southern Right whales return to Warrnambool’s Logan’s Beach to calve. The whales often swim within 100 metres of the shore and can be viewed from the beach or sand dunes via a specially constructed whale viewing platform.
Lake Pertobe Adventure Playground
A year-round family attraction - 20 hectares of adventure playground paradise for kids, with giant slides, flying foxes, a maze and boat rides. Lovely walking tracks around the lakes, delightful picnic areas and sheltered BBQ facilities.
Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village
An interactive, 1870s maritime village and museum. This state heritage listed site and maritime village reflects the pioneering atmosphere of an 1870s coastal port.
Tower Hill Reserve
Nestled inside a dormant volcano, Tower Hill is today a beautiful haven for wildlife thanks to the efforts of Friends of Tower Hill and volunteers. There is a lake and wetland and during years of average rainfall it is not uncommon to see the wetland completely immersed in water.
Witness the rugged splendour of the famous 12 Apostles, magnificent rock stacks up to 45 metres in height, rising up majestically from the Southern Ocean on Victoria's dramatic coastline.
