Emerald Carriages accommodation was designed with couples in mind. It's all about providing you with a unique experience where you can connect with each other and maybe reconnect with the past. It blends the traditions of yester-year with all of the modern conveniences you would expect such as state of the art ensuite, flat screen TV, ducted heating and air conditioning.
Blended into the architecture is a lovingly restored Victorian era railway carriage. The carriage bedroom features pressed metal ceilings, gorgeous hanging brass light fittings and mirrors. The ensuite has all you could want and features a generous shower and double vanity. Connected to the bedroom via a internal passage is a private living area where you can relax talk or maybe watch a movie if the mood takes you.
The carriage is your exclusive domain. You have a private entrance and plenty of private space in your railway carriage.
Yes it's a train! Step back in time and relax in unique and spacious surroundings. The pictures tell the story; luxurious, private and intimate. Ideal getaway for couples. Walking distance to Emerald and Puffing Billy. Get on board Toot toot!
Emerald is situated in the picturesque Dandenong Ranges, about an hour's drive east of Melbourne. Emerald has some delightful cafes and restaurants that will tempt you out of your romantic carriage. The Emerald Village Bakery is definitely worth a look and of course the famous Puffing Billy is never too far away. Emerald Lake park is a perfect place for a hand in hand walk no matter what the season. For those who enjoy a game of golf the Emerald Country Club is literally just down the road.
So much to see and do or just relax and stay snuggled up in bed. Choices. Here's three to start you thinking.
* Markets are a regular feature of the local towns. Emerald market is on the 3rd Sunday of every month; Gembrook market is on the 4th Sunday.
* A forest walk. Sherbrooke forest is 15 minutes drive away and offers some lovely walks and if you're lucky a glimpse of the magnificent lyrebird
* The Cameo cimema in Belgrave screens an excellent mix of art-house and main stream movies. The original theater, now one of 8, is a beautify 1930 style auditorium. The outdoor cinema is a must for a summer's evening.
