~~In splendid isolation, and with stunning Cape-to cape ocean views, but just ten minutes from Portland, this uniquely appointed fully self-contained house is set up as a home for your convenience and comfort.

Whales may be sighted from the lounge room from approximately June to November

The house has three bedrooms and sleeps eight people.  The master bedroom has a queen-size bed with a stunning view across the bay to Cape Bridgewater.  The second bedroom is a twin, and the third contains two sets of double bunks. All linen is provided and beds are made up prior to your arrival.

 The newly renovated open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area also has a fabulous ocean view. The new kitchen boasts stone bench tops and all modern appliances.

The bathroom and 2 toilets are also newly renovated with a large shower area, stone bench tops and twin vanities.

A sunroom adjoins the bunk-room providing a second TV/DVD and an ideal area for children which can be closed off if desired. 

There are two large sundecks equipped with sunlounges, a gas barbecue, ideal for relaxation and outdoor dining.

Our clients enjoy the Retreat in all weather conditions.  A wood-burning heater, ceiling fan, reverse cycle air-conditioning and the natural afternoon sea breeze keeps the house warm and cosy in winter and comfortable and cool in summer.

 Both Shelly Beach and Bridgewater Bay can be accessed directly from the house by a path meandering through native coastal wattle and teatree. Patrolled by the Surf Club, dog-friendly Bridgewater Bay is popular with swimmers and surfers, while Shelly Beach is favoured by rock fishermen and as its name suggests is noted for its many varieties of shells.  The freshwater Bridgewater Lakes, ideal for swimming, canoeing, sailboarding and power boating are five minutes away, as are many interesting geological coastline features including the Blow Holes and Petrified Forest.  There are many walks one can do in the area which range in length and difficulty.  The Great South West Walk passes the front of the house and provides access to a seal colony which can be observed from the cliff above. Boat trips to the seal caves are also available.

DOG OWNERS TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Dogs are very welcome at Shelly Beach Retreat but we request that the following terms and conditions are respected
For health reasons
• Dogs are not permitted on carpeted areas and are restricted only to the areas with a slate floor
•  At no time dogs are allowed on beds or furniture.
• Dogs may be washed outside using the hose provided.
• Dog droppings must be collected and binned prior to departure.

Any damage to the property caused by your dog must be reported to the owners immediately.

 STANDARD TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF TEMPORARY HOLIDAY ACCOMMODATION

Note: Variances can be agreed on but only by arrangement with the owner in writing.

Deposit of 50% non refundable is required to secure the booking. Payment of the rental deposit constitutes the clients acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

Balance of the rental amount must be received in full  prior to occupancy. If not the owner has the right to cancel the booking and attempt to re let it.

Cancellation if caused by the client, money paid is not refundable unless the house is re-let for the entire period. If it a refund is made due to the property being relet then  a $50 cancellation fee will apply.

The owners will make every effort to ensure the property is available as booked. However the owners reserve the right to make alterations to bookings due to unforeseen circumstances.

To maintain a good standard for our guests we require certain conditions to be complied with. We appreciate most will respect our property but the occasional abuse requires that we state the following conditions.

Number of Guests should not exceed the number stated on the Confirmation Notice or subsequently agreed in writing or email.  Fees will apply for excess guests not agreed with the owners in advance.

Parties and Functions are strictly prohibited. The price charged is for domestic use only and not commercial. Accordingly this rate does not allow for the extra wear associated with functions in terms of cleaning, garbage removal, wear and tear, repairs etc. Use contrary to this may result in loss of your bond and/or additional payments.

Damage, Breakages, Theft and Loss are the tenants responsibility during their stay.

Departure - the property should be left in a similar state to its condition on arrival. Check-out time is 11.00 am by the latest, to allow time to prepare property for next guests.

Disturbance to our neighbours, including excessive noise, is prohibited and may result in termination of rental and loss of bond.

Pets are allowed if specific arrangements have been made in writing with the owner.

Loss - the owners take no responsibility for the tenant’s personal property.

Variations to these conditions may only be made by prior arrangements with the owner in writing.
