If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay in the Scamander or St Helens area then please enquire about Max's Beach House. We offer very competitive rates, are family friendly and you can be assured Max's is one of the cleanest accommodation places on the coast. Max's is also the most private of accommodation houses, set back from the main road, surrounded by native trees with ocean views. We are also within 2 min walk to the local shop, 5 min walk to the beach and 8 min to the local Hotel, PO and takeaways.

Scamander is an excellent area to base yourself on the North East Coast. We are 1 hr drive to Coles Bay and Freycinet National Park, 30 min drive to Binalong Bay and the Bay of Fires and 1.5 hrs from Launceston.

There are many local outdoor activities available in the area from fishing and surfing to golf and bushwalking. We live 5 min away so you get local knowledge about most activities: want to snorkel for abalone? ask us where and then the best way to cook them. Best surf spots? no problems, we've both surfed for a combined 45 years!

    -    Max's is pet free (unless prior to booking this has been discussed with Nell)

    -    if  anything needs attention or is damaged or broken during your stay please call.  We are only 5 minutes away. (usually!)


    -    please let us know if you have more people            stay than you have specified

Reservations and payments

1.1    The total transaction value for a booking is split into two portions: the non-refundable deposit and the remaining balance. You may pay both portions (the full amount) up-front or pay the deposit initially and subsequently pay the remaining balance. Where the stay commences in less than 4 weeks from the time of booking, the full amount must be paid up-front.

1.2     At the time of booking you must pay the deposit or full amount of the booking using EFT with the BSB and Account number at the top of this page.  A cheque or cash is also valid if discussed. Once payment is confirmed you will then receive a booking confirmation via email

1.3    If you do not pay the remaining balance by 4 weeks prior to your stay and it remains overdue for more than one week, we may deem the booking to have been cancelled by you and retain the non-refundable deposit.


Changes, cancellations and refunds

2.1    Cancellations must be made at least 4 weeks prior to your stay.

2.2    You must contact Ornella via email and/or phone on 03 63725479 to change or cancel the booking.

2.3    If you cancel a booking, the deposit portion 50% of the total transaction value is non-refundable. If you have already paid the remaining balance,     your right to a refund of that portion will be determined by Ornella.

2.4    If you are unable to make it on the dates booked Ornella will however as a gesture of goodwill hold the deposit for another time.



How to get to  Max's Holiday House


Max's is at 99 Scamander Ave situated on the ocean side of Scamander.


Heading north, cross the Scamander Bridge, continue for approximately 1.5 km to the BP service station on your left then another 100m.  Max's is on your right.  There is a small sign with a colourful fish on the nature strip to welcome your arrival.


The key for Max's is kept in a key safe near the side door on the southern side of the house. Please put the key back in the box at all times.
