Derwent Hideaway is a fully furnished self contained house with absolute waterfront to the Derwent river and great views of the Derwent, yachts at anchor and Mount Direction. It has a Queen, Double, 2 Single and 3 folding beds. A portacot and high chair are available on request. The base rate is for 2 people with an extra person charge. There is no charge for internet, TV, DVD, fishing gear, bikes, canoes etc.

Description

Derwent Hideaway is a fully furnished self contained house with absolute waterfront on the Derwent river 15 minutes from Hobart.

Derwent Hideaway has three bedrooms which sleep up to 9 and one baby with a configuration of a queen, double, two singles, a folding sofa bed and a drawer bed in the lounge.

The bathroom has a separate toilet and wash basin and there is a fully equipped brand new kitchen and laundry. Basics like tea, coffee, linen and towels are provided as well as extras including a barbecue, fishing gear, TV, DVD, wired and wireless internet and stereo etc. All main rooms have wonderful views of the Derwent River and Mount Direction. It has a large riverside garden dominated by two ancient oaks and at the rear there is a large pet enclosure. Tea coffee and other basics as well as all linen and crockery are provided. Bikes and canoes are available on request at your risk.

The property is surrounded by water and there is parkland on the other side of Harbinger Lane. The local Yacht club and launching ramp and shops are close by and easily accessible.

Derwent Hideaway is close to major businesses and tourist attractions, public transport and the Brooker highway which is the main route to and from southern Tasmania. Very close are MONA, Alpenrail, Bonorong Park, the Cadbury factory as well as bowling and golf facilities.
Derwent Hideaway is rented short to medium term at competitive rates and is suitable for business people looking for somewhere to stay, a retreat or quiet place to work or holiday makers keen on sampling the many attractions that the Hobart region is famous for.

Directions

Find your way onto the old Main Road and follow it north or south as the case may be to Austins Ferry. Austins Ferry Road is opposite the stone gates to historic Roseneath Park between two groups of shops. Turn down Austins Ferry Road towards the yacht club. Go over a rail crossing. For Derwent Hideaway turn right into Harbinger Lane just after the parks on the right hand side of the road at the top of a small rise. Follow Harbinger Lane next to the old stone wall. Derwent Hideaway is on your left and clearly marked as no. 4. Note that there is room for parking up to two or three cars at our properties.

Our Pet Policy

If you intend bringing a dog, cat or kangaroo or any other animal for that matter you must not let them loose under any circumstances. All of our properties have yards and there are three parks within 100 metres for exercise. Animals that are house trained and do not leave hair inside are allowed inside but not on beds or furniture.  You are responsible to clean up any hair or other nuisances left by them.

Cancellations and Changes

Cancellations must be requested by email with read receipt, by telephone or in person during business hours and are always at our discretion. In exercising our discretion we take into account the reason for the request and how close it is to the booking date. Any amount not refunded is always available for an alternative booking date if available for 12 months. Charges we have incurred are never refundable.
