So to be only 150 metres or a 5 minute leisurely stroll and sheltered from the strong winds that blow across the ocean on occasion makes this a truely ideal location. You will experience this also when you are sitting on the deck and listening to the relaxing sound of the waves rolling in.
Just a few minutes to Port Eilliot township and a few more to Victor Harbor centre makes everything within reach.
Once at the beach, right out in front provides great surfing, body boarding and body surfing for those more competant swimmers. For a more relaxing paddle and child friendly experience, just a short walk up the beach is a calm surf life saver patrolled beach. There is some great fishing to be had off the beach. Some thing for everybody.
On the way to the beach, you cross the walking and biking trail that allows you to explore this amazing coastline by bike or by foot.
Feel the need to restock up supplies? No problems here either as just a 3 minute drive will get you into Port Elliot township where you can browse the shops, sip on a latte from several cafe's and restraunts or taste a pie from the famous Port Elliot Bakery - get there early as there is normally a long que around lunch time.
For another great dining and relaxing option is the Port Elliot hotel which has a great beer garden which will enhance the experience.
What a change of pace? Victor Harbor can fulfill this need. Located only a 10 minute drive away is the biggest town in the area. Enjoy all the large and small chain of shops, bars, restaurants, movie cinemas and other tourist attractions, These attractions include taking the horse drawn tram across the jetty to Granite Island where penguins abide. If whale spotting interests you, the Whale information centre can point you in the right direction. The historic cockle train ferries passengers up and down the coast and can be boarded from here.
Dont overlook the fantastic wine and cheese producers in the area which make for a great day out to sample some of the local produce.
