Set on Kangaroo Island, one of SA's most popular tourist destinations, Thorn Park - On the Island is an exquisite 3-bedroom beach house set overlooking the town and harbour of Penneshaw.

The property is furnished with high quality furniture and artworks. Features include an open plan living/dining area with flatscreen TV/DVD, and balcony with fabulous views.

The kitchen has European appliances and a fully stocked pantry for guests use. Quality china and glassware is supplied

Kick back on your balcony and admire the rugged coastline, the untamed bushland and remarkable native wildlife of Kangaroo Island. There is a gas BBQ provided on the deck.

The main bedroom has a king-sized bed and direct access to a private bathroom. The other two bedrooms have queen-sized beds (one can be twinned) and a share bathroom. All linen supplied

AMENITIES 

General
A contemporary three-bedroom beach house, the property is located on the hill looking over the town and harbour of Penneshaw. The house is light and bright with large north facing windows that provide and expansive view of the countryside, township and sea. 

The property is furnished with high quality furniture and artworks, but maintains a relaxed and comfortable ambience. The house has two reverse cycle split system air-conditioners. There are also additional heaters if needed. Penneshaw has mains water (it is the only area in South Australia serviced with desalinated water). The house is also on rainwater. 

Thorn Park On The Island is suited to groups of two to six, children are welcome and the property is safe for families. 

Living areas 

The large open plan sitting/dining room has flat screen television, video player, DVD player, CD player and a large selection of books, DVD’s and games and ADSL connection. The living area opens onto a large deck overlooking the sea and small harbour where the ferry from the mainland arrives. 

Bedrooms 
All rooms are equipped with woolen & cotton blankets, doonas and quality beds and pillows. 
The main bedroom has a king-sized bed and direct access to the bathroom 
The other two bedrooms have queen-sized beds (one can be twinned). 

Bathrooms 
The house has two bathrooms, one adjacent to the main bedroom with walk-in shower, large vanity and toilet. The second bathroom has a shower/bath, vanity and separate toilet. 

Kitchen and cooking facilities 
The kitchen is equipped with microwave oven, dishwasher, European fan forced electric oven and ceramic cook tops. There is a full selection of pots and pans and most equipment needed to prepare and cook with. The pantry cupboard has all herbs, spices, oils, flours etc. We only ask that as items are used up, they be replaced. The local supermarket and bottle shop in the village is extremely good and is open 8am to 8 pm daily. There is a large gas kettle style BBQ and a gas heater on the deck and a large market umbrella provides shelter on a hot day. 
There is also a grassed area overlooking the ocean. 

Laundry 
There is a laundry with a front load washer/dryer and there is a clothesline.

Service 
Jean, our housekeeper on the island, will have everything ready for your arrival, and cleans after your departure. The house is prepared for your arrival with the correct number of beds made up, and bath towels provided. ADDITIONAL cleaning (at the guest’s cost) can be arranged for longer stays. Please ensure that the house is left tidy and all dishes etc have been washed. 

What you need to bring 
All linen is provided, so all you’d need to bring would be beach towels, personal toiletries and perishable food stuff if you are not planning to use island produce. Most dry goods items are in the pantry cupboard; please replace anything that runs out during your stay.

ON DEPARTURE:  Tidy up and remove all personal belongings, place rubbish in correct wheelie bins, lower the outdoor umbrella and turn off all gas bottles. Move the outside furniture back against the house. Lock all windows and draw the blinds. Make sure the kitchen door window is locked and the key pad lock is released

With the exception of all School holidays, Thorn Park on the island is available for a minimum three day stay

Check out: Check out time is before 10.00 am

Terms and conditions: Maximum of six persons staying at any one time - a surcharge will be made for larger groups.

Deposits and guarantees: A deposit or credit card number, to the value of 25% of the booking is required at time of booking.

Payment: Final payment must be made four weeks prior to arrival date.

Method of payment: Payments may be made by cash, cheque, EFT, PayPal or by credit card via the Thorn Park terminal.
