Maison des Fleurs is beautifully furnished 'French Style' home located in the heart of Oakbank, in the Adelaide Hills.
Your fully self-contained home is surrounded by a cottage garden with outdoor dining under century old trees. Oakbank is home to the Famous 'Oakbank Easter Races' and hosts many other events on the Oakbank Racecourse, including, the very popular, 'Groovin the Moo' and Maison des Fleurs is a very short 5 minute walk back home. The Tour Down Under route is also at your doorstep for those cycling enthusiasts.
Your 'French Style' home consists of 2 bedrooms (sleeps 4 in two Queen french beds), 1 main bathroom with shower, open dining, fully-equipped kitchen (with front-loader washing machine and coffee pod machine) and a very large separate living area. You have all the comforts of home at this property to ensure your stay is relaxing and enjoyable. Maison des Fleurs offers off-street parking (non-covered) for one car, and on-street parking for additional cars. There is a bus-stop only 20 meters away for guests who require public transport. A Maison des Fleurs 'Welcome Hamper' can be arranged, upon request, full of local wine & produce (at an additional charge).
Residing not too far away, your Host is available by email or phone at anytime throughout your stay and will greet you upon arrival at the Property, so feel free to ask any questions or get local knowledge of the Adelaide Hills.
Leave your car at the accommodation when you visit any of the beautiful wineries in close proximity and catch a cab the short distance back. The O'Leary Walker Cellar Door (now in the historic old Johnston Brewery) is only a 3 min walk, the historic Oakbank Pub is also a 3 min walk in the opposite direction. Drive 7 mins to Hahndorf Hill Winery, Barristers Block or Bird in Hand, 9 mins to The Lane Vinyard, 10 mins to Nepenthe and Shaw & Smith or 15 mins to Pike & Joyce and the list goes on...and on... so you maight have to stay for a week.
So what about good Food & great Coffee... We are spoilt with fine dining at Maximilions just up the road in Verdun. Great coffee is found at Provodore, less that a 10 min drive located on the Main St of Woodside. The infamous Cocolat (drive 4 mins, or a short walk) in Balhannah will have you watering at the mouth for great coffee, hot chocolate, gelati and of course, Chocolate! As well as great coffee, Walk the Talk in Verdun (a 10 min drive) does a fantastic Laksa. Friday night wood oven pizza is popular at Kelsey's Cottage (Balhannah Main Rd) on a Friday night only but Bronte & Alison serve up a scrumptious 'home-style' menu for lunch Mon-Frid. There is also Jimmy's at Crafers, Bridgewater Mill, Woodside Cheese Wrights (amazing!), The Cudlee Creek Cafe, or The Haus,The Seasonal Garden and Bistro 25 all in Hahndorf and let's not forget The Stirling Hotel, The Organic Market & Cafe, Patch and Miss Perez, all in Stirling. Great beer can be found at The Prancing Pony in Mt. Barker, Grumpy's in Verdun or Lobethal Bierhaus. Be sure to check out local Buzz Honey in Mt. Barker too.
