We are Tom & Kathy, we own and run the business and will be your hosts when you come stay with us. Mount Gambier is our home, and we believe we live in the best part of our country, so come and stay a while and see for yourself.
Our motel is situated 1km from the beautiful bustling city centre, with many shops and resturants to visit, the newly built art gallery at the centre of town is a must see. The bus station is 450 metre walk, conveniently located at our Lady Nelson Visitor Centre. We overlook McDonald Sports Park, where on some weekends you might be able to catch a local football or netball game, and at night stand back with your favourite beverage on the balcony and admire the twinkling city lights. And if you look beyond during the day, we also have a view of the Centenary Tower. We are situated off highway one on Davison Street in a quiet area away from the traffic noise, air brakes, etc.
We are central to the lower lime coast region also central to many unique attractions, including the three major caves – Tantanoola, Princess Margaret Rose cave and Naracoorte Wonambi Fossil centre; also the many parks and gardens with fascinating sinkholes, be sure to take a stroll around our famous Blue Lake, it really does turn an amazing Aqua Blue during the summer months. Love a good wine or two? Take a 50km day trip towards the Coonawarra wine growing regions to indulge the day at some of Australia’s top wineries, where you can sample the regions fresh and finest produce when dining at any of local resturants.
If you want to experience the outdoors, the ocean and river is 30km the opposite direction, with boat ramps and jettys to suit the keenest fisherman, or families who are looking to spend the day at the beach swimming and eating fresh seafood and chips.
