Standing on the highest point of the Murray riverbank, this Goolwa landmark is located adjacent to the wharf in the heritage listed area of the township and has been modernised and transformed from its humble 1850’s origins. Unpretentious luxury and uninterrupted relaxation is what The Admiral Riverside is all about. The living is easy and the surroundings inspiring.

The Admiral comfortably sleeps 4 couples in its four well-appointed bedrooms, each with queen sized bed and two with private ensuites.

The property combines two bedrooms in the main cottage with two separate elevated studio ensuites with stunning water views.

The layout is ideal for several couples or for parents with teenage children looking to combine a family holiday with some personal privacy. Each private studio ensuite offers a main bedroom, bathroom, HD television, bar fridge, coffee machine and tea making facilities.

In the main house the fully equipped kitchen with café bar opening to the outdoor entertaining area makes the preparation of lazy breakfasts, afternoon grazing platters and indulgent evening meals an absolute pleasure.

Gather friends for a dinner party, fire up the BBQ for outdoor entertaining with the family or light candles for a romantic dinner for two. 

Settle onto the large infinity deck and feel your stress melt away watching the never-ending spectacle of light and shadow playing across the water stretched out before you. Enjoy the thrill of the yacht racing, the beauty of the pelicans and the majesty of the Oscar W paddle steamer. And try to decide how many photos of the view are too many to post.

Moor your boat at the public marina in front of the property or walk down to the wharf and jump on one of the many boats that cruise the Coorong and Lower Murray.

Head down the ramp and onto the beach itself and drive on the perfect white sand beach for 11kms to the Murray Mouth – the end of Murray River, the entrance to the Coorong and home to a colony of seals and numerous school fish which move freely through this unique and pristine channel which is not accessible by any other means.

Rental Terms & Conditions

Welcome to The Admiral Riverside!

We want you to have a wonderful stay.  To ensure a thoroughly enjoyable experience both for yourself and those who will follow, we would ask that you please read and adhere to the following conditions for use of the property:

CHECK IN/ CHECK OUT

  • The property is located at 11 Admiral Terrace, Goolwa, South Australia.  The keys for the house are available at the property.  The code for the key box will be sent to you via email prior to your arrival.
  • Check in time is 2pm and guests must vacate the property by 10am on the last day.  If there are no other bookings, late check-out times can be pre-arranged.  Please request in the week prior to your stay.

OCCUPANCY

  • The house is available for a maximum of 8 guests.  At no time are additional guests permitted to stay overnight in or at the property.
  • There are strictly no pets at the property.
  • There are strictly no parties, schoolies events or similar at the property.

THE PROPERTY

  • The owner’s storage areas including the storeroom accessed via bedroom one in the main house, are not available to guests.
  • The house is not on mains sewerage.  Sanitary items, nappies, plastic liners, wipes, or any plastic materials are not to be flushed down the toilet or put down any drain.  Please do not pour food waste or oil that can solidify down any of the sinks as this will potentially block the drains and the water system – this will result in you losing your bond.
  • For safety reasons, please do not use the gas fireplace located in the dining room. 
  • Do not move any indoor furniture outside. To prevent damage, do not move indoor furniture (other than dining chairs) around the main house or studio suites.
  • Outdoor chairs may be moved around, but please put them in their original location at night so that they don’t blow away or get damaged by wind. Please return them to their original positions prior to departure.

CLEANING

  • Bin collection day is Thursday.  We ask you to please put the bins out on the kerb on Wednesday evening if this falls during your rental period.  Garbage will not be collected if it is left sitting next to the bin.  If the amount of rubbish you produce during your stay results in an overflow, please remove this or you will incur a rubbish removal charge. 
  • Cleaning is a set fee and for a specific service. If the cleaning contractor finds the property has been left in an undesirable condition, additional cleaning time will be required and the associated charges will be deducted from the bond. 

BBQ

  • The BBQ is connected via gas line to a large gas cylinder which services the main house and supplies gas for cooking and hot water. Please ensure that all burners on the BBQ are switched into the OFF position after use to avoid depleting the entire gas supply.
  • Please ensure the BBQ is cleaned after use.  Failure to do so will incur an additional $50 cleaning fee which will be deducted from the bond.  Do not hose down the BBQ.

SMOKING

  • There is no smoking within the property – including the cottage, studio apartments and the pool room.  Should this occur, your bond will be forfeited.  Smoking is permitted outside only. Please discard cigarette butts and litter appropriately.

OTHER

  • There are to be no fires at the property. 
  • No tents are to be erected on the property. 
  • Please be aware that we have an underground watering system throughout the lawn and no pegs or items such as totem tennis are to be inserted into the lawn.

LEISURE EQUIPMENT                                                           

  • The following items are available for guest use.  Please return them in the same condition that they are provided and immediately report any loss or damage.  Use of the kayak and other water equipment is at your own risk.  Life jackets and transport wheels are provided and stored in the pool room:  Surf board, 4 x Boogie Boards, 2 Person Kayak, Pool Table, Croquet Set, Lawn Bowls, Board Games.
  • Please cover the pool table when not being used.

LOSS OR DAMAGE

  • As you would expect if there is any damage to the property, the cost of repairing this will be deducted from the bond.  Please report any damage to us during or on the day of checkout.  If you find any damage on your arrival, please report this to us so we are aware.
  • Liability for damage and loss is not limited to the bond amount.  Your use of the property constitutes acceptance that your liability for damage or loss is not limited to the bond amount.  You agree to cover all costs associated with damage and/or loss.

We fell in love with the admiral house as soon as we arrived. The view is stunning. The house is very unique, nice and clean. And provided furniture was very modern and comfortable. Kitchen is very large, spacious and full of convinient equipment. Entertainment areas were amazing and well maintained. Perfect suit bedroom, nice view, nice bathroom and very comfortable stay overal. Enyoyed walking around the local area and waking up with that amazing view Very furfilling stay. 8 of us very enjoy our city break.

"The Admiral Riverside is beautiful accommodation with fantastic Murray River views." A group of 8 of us have enjoyed a fantastic holiday staying at The Admital Riverside. The fully renovated 2 bedroom cottage and 2 en-suite studios comprise quality appliances, finishes & fittings. The outside decks and games rooms further enhance the accommodation. The views over the Murray River are spectacular. Overall this is one of the best properties we have ever stayed in. Communication with the owner/manager Rowena was very easy and welcoming.

"Admiring the Admiral" The Admiral is spectacular. Positioned right on the river, amazing views, Cockle Train passing nearby, and within a short walk to the Main Street. The property is exceptionally clean, spacious, with multiple areas inside and out to relax and soak up the serenity. We appreciated the house was decorated with artistic pieces from local artists. Kitchen well stocked, with a few basic food items to start your stay with. Owner excellent in her communication. Great value for money, it’s everything you love about Goolwa, all in one.
