THINGS TO SEE AND DO
There is no better way to see the Clare Valley than the 34 km Riesling Trail. Suitable for recreational walkers, tour bikes, wheelchairs and pushers. Bike hire is available from Discovery Holiday Parks – Clare.
Martindale Hall, Mintaro
Experience the grandeur and ambience of 19th century Martindale Hall, a treasured secret hidden away in the Clare Valley. This Georgian mansion was built in 1879 on the sheep station, Martindale Station, and was featured in the film, ‘Picnic at Hanging Rock’.
Lose yourself in this extraordinary living hedge maze, consisting of over 800 conifers, and enough twists and turns to stump the shrewdest of explorers. When you find your way out, check out the range of giant sized games and handmade goodies in the gift shop.
Bundaleer Forest Reserve
Visit Australia’s first plantation forest and experience its textures, sounds and aromas while you enjoy lunch in the picnic grounds. Walking trails, including the Heysen and Mawson Trails take in the Bundaleer Forest.
Burra Heritage Passport
The kids will love exploring the historic township of Burra. Your passport includes entry to the Burra Mine, including the dressing tower and lookout, police lockup and stables, Redruth Gaol, Hampton, brewery cellars, miners’ dugouts and smelts paddocks.
