"Well thought out, small but adequate and safe" This was my third stay at the cottage and in my opinion it just gets better somehow. My dogs love this house and it is well stocked. Helen is easy to communicate with and it's close enough to everything. I will be back again

"Perfect" Excellent place to stay with our dog. Air con cooled the place down quickly and close to the town centre.

Welcoming and comfortable stay We stayed at Riverside Cottage with our 1yo Daughter and 6yo Kelpie X Shephard both on our forward leg from Townsville to Brisbane and then a week later on our return. Great that Riverside Cottage is completely pet friendly - after a 12hr drive and a quick neighbourhood walk on arrival, it was great that our dog could just curl up inside and relax. On both visits the cottage was clean, tidy and welcoming after our long drive. The cottage was complete with medium sized fridge, dishwasher, microwave and Oven. TV with perfect reception as well as WIFI also available, however we didn't use the wifi as we had a good Telstra 4G signal. Cottage is located within a short drive to Woolworths, Subway and city centre area. While the rear yard was very large, we personally didn't class it as dog friendly for our dog, for as we found one of the side fences to be a little short and our dog would have easily jumped it, so we just kept our dog leashed up when in the rear yard. Curb appeal was great and very inviting. If travelling with a young one, just be mindful of the double step down into the kitchen. Floor boards did creaked loudly in the living room area (we had it planned out we knew where to walk as not to make them creak and wake our daughter up). Living room couch also very worn and takes away from the cosy and inviting nature. Owner very quick to answer any communications and very professional. Overall, the property meet our expectations and great for a night or 2 stay. Solid 4 starts. My Response Paul that is a thoughtful review especially from the point of view of parents of a young child... we don't have many guests with youngsters. Yes the one step down internally could catch toddlers unawares and I might put some baby gates in the house for the future. The house is historic and the flooring is over the existing wide pine flooring - which can be creaky... can't do much about that but you worked it out. I must say your doggie must be a steeple chaser ... the fence is a pool fence 1.4 above the ground at the side - but if you come again - leave your dog inside - the floors are timber and tiles so no problem... better than tying him outside. All dogs welcome inside in all our cottages .. look at Paradise Cottage and Happiness Cottage in Brisbane North and Mudjimba Beach House and Mudjimba Cottage at the Sunshine Coast. Home away from home for family and pets Two bedroom cottage, fully self-contained, fully fenced back yard with a great fishing spot on the banks of the river directly across the road. Close to town, very quiet area with relaxing views of the river. Wonderfully comfortable accommodation for family and mans best friend. We will be back. My Response Thank you Deanne for your review and for allowing me to post a photo of the gorgeous Chevy on the Riverside Cottage facebook page.
