You’ve done the Noosa “sea change”, now try a “tree change” at Cooroy Country Cottages. Escape the city and coastal crowds, inflated costs, congestion and noise for a quiet secluded holiday set amongst 97 private acres of rural Noosa native forests and wildlife with changing mountain and valley views. Luxury modern 2 & 3 bedroom cottages, plus a 1 bedroom (3 roomed) Studio Suite, fully self-contained with queen beds, complete kitchens, reverse cycle air\heat, DVD, private laundry, BBQ, patio, carport, verandahs and more await. It’s perfect for that romantic getaway, business retreat or family celebration. We have been pet-friendly since our December, 2000 opening and understand how pets are family members. The Cooroora cottage offers disabled and wheelchair guest access and facilities.

Please note that we require a longer stay on public holidays. IE Xmas a 7 night stay, Easter a 4 night stay, long weekends a 3 night stay etc 

The two storey, three bedroom Australian cottage (cottage #1) was designed with families in mind, but available to all guests. As all three bedrooms and one bathroom are located on the second floor, it allows children to sleep while adults enjoy either an early morning or late night in the first floor lounge, kitchen, laundry or dining rooms. Although each cottage offers views toward Mt. Cooroora, the Australian cottage’s unique feature is that every room has a direct view of Mt. Cooroora.

Each of the three bedrooms contains one queen bed, so the cottage can accommodate a maximum of six guests, The bathroom has a shower\tub combination. The Australian cottage has balconies for each of its three bedrooms, in addition to the first floor’s surrounding verandah. Outdoor seating is also provided on the balconies and verandah. The gated verandah not only serves to keep young children close and safe, but also can serve as a temporary kennel for accompanying pets while guests are away from the cottage.

The swimming pool is situated at the managers residence and is available for guests. We ask that you give us a few minutes to get the pool cover off (to stop dehydration) as we are on rainwater supply.

A large private yard area is available, in addition to the extensive gardens which surround and assure privacy in addition to each cottage being situated approximately 50 metres apart. The cottage’s private parking area includes a double carport.

Cooroy Country Cottages is centrally located for easy Bruce Highway or Queensland Rail train access for day trips in all directions . You can be on the Noosa and ocean beaches or explore the Sunshine Coast popular tourist attractions (Eumundi Markets, Yandina Ginger Factory, Underwater World, Australia Zoo, Montville) within a thirty minute drive or be at Brisbane’s CBD or airport within a 1 ½ hour drive.

Better yet, as most guests do, spend your days simply relaxing in our idyllic natural surroundings. Be amazed by the panoramic mountain and valley views; appreciate the tranquillity interrupted only by bird songs; stroll the rock pond boardwalk or 8,000+ planted native flowering tree arboretums or extensive gardens or 4km forest and creek bushwalk tracks; rest and relax in the tropical garden gazebo; visit or feed the miniature horses and Dexter cattle located in a near paddock; or watch native wildlife among 97 secluded acres nestled in Noosa’s hinterland.

Enjoy the greater space, comforts and freedoms of your own private fully-equipped cottage (your “home away from home”) versus the confines and shared complexities of a hotel room, apartment or commercial unit. There are only three cottages, (plus a Studio Suite, which is attached to the Managers residence but has its own facilities IE entrance and bathroom etc) each distantly spaced and surrounded by their own garden and yard, so you may feel you are the only guests! Though the cottage, views, gardens, grounds and serenity might keep you from leaving, complete varied amenities and services (e.g. restaurants, banks, petrol, RSL, shops, library, etc.) are provided in the nearby town of Cooroy, only 8 kms away.

If coming from the South

  1. The Bruce Highway Take "Exit 230" which is the "Cooroy\Pomona\Noosa Heads” exit becomes Myall Street, which leads to the town centre.
  2. Take a LEFT turn at the marked junction to enter the central business district (versus crossing the train overpass bridge which leads to Pomona and Noosa).
  3. Continue straight through each of two roundabouts while passing through Cooroy's town centre on Maple Street. (If you want to stop for groceries, take a left turn at the second roundabout onto Emerald Street and the nearby IGA Supermarket).
  4. Maple Street crosses the Cooroy Creek where it converts to Mary River Road and passes the Tennis Club, Sports Complex and TIP. Thereafter, Mary River Road converts to Black Mountain Road and commences an ascent to a T intersection.
  5. Take a LEFT turn at the T intersection to continue on Black Mountain Road (Do not take a right turn at the T intersection onto Black Mountain "Range" Road, which will lead you back to the Bruce Highway). and continue another 2.7 kilometres to Cooroy Country Cottages entrance at #532. .
  6. Take a right turn at the Cooroy Country Cottages sign and main entrance and continue on the marked bitumen paved road directly to your cottage, which is open, prepared for your scheduled arrival.
  7. Please dial 5 on your cottage phone after arriving for management to arrive, welcome you and complete the check-in procedure.

If coming from the north

  1. take the “Black Mountain Range Road” entrance on the right, just south of Pioneer road (which is on the left and goes to Pomona) but at this stage make sure you are in the right hand lane as you are going to turn Right off the highway)
  2. when you get to the Cooroy turn off: keep going straight for another 2.7 km’s
  3. Take a right turn at the Cooroy Country Cottages sign and main entrance and continue on the marked bitumen paved road directly to your cottage, which is open, prepared for your scheduled arrival.
  4. Please dial 5 on your cottage phone after arriving for management to arrive, welcome you and complete the check-in procedure.

Terms & conditions

A 50% deposit of your total stay cost is required before any reservation is accepted and the booking confirmation e-mailed to you (with driving directions). The remaining stay cost (with any adjustments) is payable during the check-out process.

Payment is either by cheque (payable to “Cooroy Country Cottages”, by EFTPOS available at the office, or credit card (Visa, Mastercard and American Express accepted).

Cancellations occurring more than 30 days prior to the reserved arrival date receive a full refund of the required deposit less a 20% administrative cost fee.

Cancellations on or before 15 days of the reserved arrival date receive a 50% refund of the required deposit amount. No refunds apply to any cancellation occurring less than 15 days before the arrival date.




"A wonderful experience that I will always remember." Gorgeous location, with wonderful mountain views. The managers were totally relaxed about my dog having the run of the place. They had a very laid back style in general and were not intrusive in the slightest. My dog had never seen ponies before, so when we walked in and down their paddock I was a little nervous. Three of them boldly came up to us, and immediately greeted my Spoodle by taking turns to nuzzle my puppy on his nose. I was amazed to watch my dog calmly return the greeting, quite unconcerned about these large creatures gathering around him. I can thoroughly recommend a stay as it is a very unique and impressive country estate. Someone certainly spent a huge amount of money developing the lovely cottages and the beautifully landscaped grounds.



"Exceptional" The fact it really was pet friendly and the owners had animals , the view from the balcony in the morning whilst having coffee was breathtaking. The owners left you alone to enjoy the environment, but were on hand by a quick call to answer any queries etc



"Relaxing, peaceful and breathtaking views." The view and the property is beautiful. Our dog loves his stay, and he had a great time running around with the managers dog. Jim is such a nice guy, make sure to join him on his bush walks at 4pm.
