The Cooroora cottage offers disabled and wheelchair guest access and facilities.
Please note that public holidays require a longer stay ie Xmas we require a 7 night minimum Easter a 4 night stay and long weekends a 3 night stay
The 1 ½ storey, three bedroom Cooroora cottage (cottage #3) was specifically created for elderly, disabled or wheelchair guests, but is available to all guests. The cottage has a small ramp and sliding door access to the fully-tiled interior from the covered front verandah directly accessible from parked vehicles . Two of the Cooroora cottage’s three bedrooms are located on the shaded rear first floor. There is a stairway to the upper half floor which solely houses the third bedroom and its direct elevated view toward Mt. Cooroora. The first floor’s larger master bedroom allows space for either wheelchair or hoist access and a raised bed for such purpose.
Each of the three bedrooms contains one queen bed. The lounge offers a single sofa bed, so the cottage can accommodate a maximum of seven guests. The bathroom is an open fully-tiled “wet room” providing direct shower access for disabled or wheelchair guests, in addition to its disability design toilet, vanity, sink and handles. An outdoor shower is also available in the private rear walled courtyard.
The Cooroora cottage’s patio is sheltered, which is another of its unique features and makes it most suitable for outdoor celebrations despite weather conditions.
The Cooroora cottage’s front verandah and covered patio area is complemented by the gated private rear walled courtyard, which also serves as a temporary kennel for accompanying pets while guests are away from the cottage.
The swimming pool is situated at the managers residence and is available for guests. We ask that you give us a few minutes to get the pool cover off (to stop dehydration) as we are on rainwater supply.
Extensive gardens surround the Cooroora cottage and assure privacy in addition to each cottage being situated approximately 50 metres apart. The cottage’s private parking area includes a double carport with an elevated roof allowing access for larger vehicles. The nearby in-ground private water tank top serves as a sun area with two lounge chairs and a direct view toward Mt. Cooroora.
Cooroy Country Cottages is centrally located for easy Bruce Highway or Queensland Rail train access for day trips in all directions . You can be on the Noosa and ocean beaches or explore the Sunshine Coast popular tourist attractions (Eumundi Markets, Yandina Ginger Factory, Underwater World, Australia Zoo, Montville) within a thirty minute drive or be at Brisbane’s CBD or airport within a 1 ½ hour drive.
Better yet, as most guests do, spend your days simply relaxing in our idyllic natural surroundings. Be amazed by the panoramic mountain and valley views; appreciate the tranquillity interrupted only by bird songs; stroll the rock pond boardwalk or 8,000+ planted native flowering tree arboretums or extensive gardens or 4km forest and creek bushwalk tracks; rest and relax in the tropical garden gazebo; visit or feed the miniature horses and Dexter cattle located in a near paddock; or watch native wildlife among 97 secluded acres nestled in Noosa’s hinterland.
Enjoy the greater space, comforts and freedoms of your own private fully-equipped cottage (your “home away from home”) versus the confines and shared complexities of a hotel room, apartment or commercial unit. There are only three cottages, (plus a Studio Suite, which is attached to the Managers residence but has its own facilities IE entrance and bathroom etc) each distantly spaced and surrounded by their own garden and yard, so you may feel you are the only guests! Though the cottage, views, gardens, grounds and serenity might keep you from leaving, complete varied amenities and services (e.g. restaurants, banks, petrol, RSL, shops, library, etc.) are provided in the nearby town of Cooroy, only 8 kms away.
