Description

The covered deck offers wide ocean views where in season you can whale watch and any time you can eat outside enjoying the sea air.

At the end of the long sloping lawn a steep cliff track leads down to the rockshelf (children should not be allowed to attempt unsupervised) where there are rockpools to sit or play in. Wombarra beach and ocean pool around the headland can be accessed via the rockshelf or walking via the road, 10 minutes. 

The renovated interior features two living areas, a queen bedroom with ensuite, another queen bedroom and a bedroom with two singles; a bathroom with shower and bath and toilet; and a separate toilet. The kitchen is well equipped with slimline dishwasher, microwave, crockery, glassware, cooking pots and utensils, oil, salt, sugar; there are a gas bbq, dvd player and plenty of books. Sheets, towels and quilts are provided. There are column heaters for winter. 

The driveway is very steep, but with careful parking can accommodate up to three cars. 

The house is set in a quiet residential strip a 20-minute walk to Wombarra train station which connects to Sydney; a 15-minute walk in the other direction to a newsagency/basic store and cafe; a 10-minute drive to Thirroul, where there are supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, shops. It is a 35-minute drive to Wollongong and there is a shuttle for direct transfer to Sydney airport.

Please make yourselves at home then leave the house in good order, clean and with rubbish bins taken up to the roadside. Please no smoking inside; no parties or neighbour disturbance; no extra guests or pets; and no baby wipes or foreign matter of any sort down the toilets (or they will block and it will be messy). 

And could you let us know if anything needs repairing or replacing so we can sort.

Terms & conditions

Full payment confirms a booking and this can be paid by credit card or by direct transfer from an Australian bank. 

Cancellation charges

For a 75% refund, cancellation must be made 28 full days prior to listing’s local check-in time (or 3:00 PM if not specified) on the day of check in, otherwise no refund. 

For a 50% refund, cancellation must be made 14 full days prior to listing’s local check-in time. 

If the guest cancels less than 7 days in advance, or does not arrive on the specified day, the nights not spent are not refunded.

If the guest arrives and decides to leave early, the nights not spent are not refunded.

Change of dates is considered a cancellation.

"Wonderful weekend getaway" Fabulous views and lots to see nearby. It got very cold but the space heaters worked well. The owner was always very prompt in answering questions.

"Amazing ocean view and great location!" We recently stayed at On The Waterfront and it lived up to all the past reviews. The home is spacious with multiple living areas. We spent most of our time on the deck given the spectacular ocean views. We loved walking to the local beaches and appreciated all of Jane’s excellent food and coffee recommendations. The home has everything you need for a relaxing stay with quirky retro furnishings. We hope to return again soon!

Jane’s property is a great location for a quick getaway by the beach. Amazing views with great sounds from the ocean and wildlife. Jane gave excellent recommendations for entertainment and very helpful and detailed directions. Was a very nice and well needed break.

"I would highly recommend a relaxing stay at On the Waterfront..quiet with stunning views." We were lucky to have amazing weather to appreciate all the house had to offer. On the Waterfront is a very comfortable property with space that we didn't even use. Perfect for a family with a separate eating and living area for older children. As 5 separate adults the facilities in the house still ticked all the boxes. I'd really recommend making use of this destination out of season as well as in the predictable summer holidays. There is so much to do apart from swimming and the villages along Lawrence Hargreave Drive are certainly much less busy. We had a really special time with coffees on the deck in the morning in the sun as well as drinks in the evening with the spectacular view looking north up the coast. The direct access to the beach is a little precarious but so nice to know that it is possible. The owner of the property was immediately responsive to any queries we had which always makes for a positive experience. I would highly recommend a relaxing stay at On the Waterfront to those who haven't already been.
