CARING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
Riverview Homestead has been built and developed with environmental protection as one of our primary concerns. This has been taken into account in designing and running our homestead. With this in mind, we ask you to help us protect our natural environment through recycling and conservation practices:
1. Use lights and electrical appliances only as needed.
2. Close outside doors when heaters are in use.
3. Report any dripping taps.
4. Do not flush any foreign objects or chemicals into our septic system
5. Your room will be serviced after ¾ days’ stay. This will reduce the amount of water and detergent that is used.
6. Heating/airconditioning at medium level – on low when leaving room
7. Limit length of showers - water from our rainwater tank
We thank you for playing your part in helping us protect our natural environment.
Riverview Homestead is set in 40 acres of undulating river flats on the Murrumbidgee River. We invite you to explore our farm and its environs, Maybe you would like to take a walk through our hazelnut orchard, or stroll down to the river. Please talk to us before you venture out. We will point you in the direction of the safe well worn tracks –one is on our land and the other approaches the river from the stock route adjacent to our property.
The riding of horses or any other animals on our property is strictly prohibited. The driving of any motor vehicle is permitted only on the designated sealed road from the main gate to the homestead. Also prohibited are shooting, hunting and the use of firearms.
If you decide to take a walk down to the river we would ask you to stick to the well worn tracks –one is on our land and the other approaches the river from the stock route adjacent to our property. Please ask us about these and we will be happy to give you clear directions for these walks.
We look forward to you staying with us.
