Retro Sands is a fully contained house located across from Bafleur Beach, Vincentia, in stunning Jervis Bay. 

We are a brother and sister team who share a passion for travel and staying in alternative, quirky accommodation, and love beautiful Jervis Bay. 

As we have both experienced many different types of accommodation through personal and work related travel over the years, we have combined as many positive experiences as possible, and used them to create a home away from home.

As the architectural style is very 'retro', and we were lucky enough to obtain many pieces of the former owner's 60/70's furniture, it was only natural to follow and retain this theme. We have added original retro pieces, combined with some modern items, sourced locally, and all around the world, as far as New York. We have paid the upmost attention to take you down memory lane, providing board games, books, music and movies from the late 60's and 70's, whilst at the same time providing some modern day comforts like a flat-screen TV and Blu Ray DVD player. 

THE HOUSE

We have set up downstairs to be more casual, with the kitchen catering for outdoor and BBQ dining. Upstairs is more formal, with a balcony and large windows providing spectacular views of Jervis Bay. The house is located in a quiet part of Vincentia, with beautiful Barfluer Beach on its doorstep. The two story house features two fully equipped kitchens, 2 bathrooms, and three bedrooms, comfortably sleeping 8 people. It is perfect for both couples and families.


BEDROOMS - the upstairs master bedroom contains a double bed, the 2nd bedroom contains two single beds. The large downstairs bedroom features a queen size bed and two single beds. A curtain divider has been provided for privacy. This room is very suitable for parents with small children. We provide only the finest linen and bedding including mattress and pillow protectors, duvets, pillows and blankets to ensure a good night's rest. A quality towel set (face, hand and bath) is provided for each person, as is a beach towel. All bedrooms feature built-in robes, clothes hangers, alarm clocks and torches. 

KITCHENS - each kitchen is fully equipped with dining and cookware, utensils, glassware, crockery, tea towels, detergent, fridge and microwave. The upstairs kitchen also features an oven and Nespresso coffee machine. A small supply of Nespresso capsules, as well as a selection of teas are provided. 

BATHROOMS - each bathroom contains a hair dryer, bath mats, hand towels, and travel-sized shampoo, conditioner and body wash. 

ENTERTAINMENT - each living area contains a TV, DVD and stereo. A selection of 'retro' CDs, DVDs and books are provided to coincide with our theme. Local area books and information, and board games are also available. In the garage you will discover a selection of outdoor games including balls, kites and a beach cricket set. A BBQ, outdoor dining setting, umbrellas and sun lounges are also supplied. 

GARAGE - the double lock-up garage is available for your use. A washing machine, clothes dryer, iron and ironing board are stored within.  Washing detergent and fabic softner are also provided.


PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL RATES INCLUDE END OF STAY CLEANING AND ALL LINEN INCLUDING BATH AND BEACH TOWELS.  

ON ARRIVAL YOU WILL BE GREETED WITH A WELCOME BASKET CONTAINING A BOTTLE OF SPARKLING SILOS ESTATE WINE, CHOCOLATES, BREAD, MILK, PRESERVES, BUTTER, A SELECTION OF TEAS AND COFFEE, INCLUDING A FEW NESPRESSO CAPSULES.  WE ALSO PROVIDE A BASIC SUPPLY OF SUGAR, OIL & VINEGAR AND SALT & PEPPER.  BASIC CLEANING PRODUCTS, PAPER TOWELS, NAPKINS, FOIL, BAKING PAPER, CLING WRAP, TOILET PAPER AND TRAVEL SIZED SHAMPOO, CONDITIONER AND BODY WASH ARE ALSO PROVIDED FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE.

The main thing we ask from our guests is to respect and treat our house as if it was your own. Please leave the property the way you found it. This includes washing dishes and putting them away, taking out the garbage, and putting all furniture and other moved items back in their original place. If you use the BBQ and utensils, please ensure they are clean after use.

Smoking inside the house is strictly prohibited. If smoking outside, please dispose of all ash and butts safely.

Please respect our neighbours by keeping noise to a minimum after 10pm. No parties please.

Pets are not allowed unless a prior arrangement has been made with us. Terms & conditions apply.

Upon departure, please ensure the property is securely locked and the curtains are drawn.

All damage and breakages will be charged for and must be reported.

 

BALANCE  of tariff must be received in full at least 30 days before occupancy.  For bookings less than 30 days, full payment is required within 7 days of booking date.

A BOND (amount stated on invoice) is payable at the time of paying the final balance.  The tenant must report all damages, breakages or lost items immediately.  The tenant accepts responsibility for and agrees to indemnify the owner against any loss or damage to the premises or contents caused by them or their guests during the tenants occupation and authorise the owner to spend funds from the bond to cover such damages or losses.  Accordingly the tenant will be advised of any claim being made on their security bond.

CANCELLATION FEES - if the property is re-booked for the entire period, the Aura Holdings Pty Ltd fee and a $50 owner fee will be charged.  Where the property is not re-let, no monies will be refunded.

OCCUPANCY RULES (THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS APPLY TO ALL TENANTS OCCUPYING THE PREMISES)

NOISE - Please be mindful of noise levels, especially between 10pm & 8am.  Any disturbance to neighbours including excessive noise is prohibited and may result in the immediate termination of tenancy and/or loss of bond.

GARBAGE - Excessive garbage including recycling is the responsibility of the tenant and must be taken with you upon departure.  Rubbish removal will incur a $25 per bin fee & be deducted from your bond.  

SEAFOOD - is not to be gutted, cleaned or scaled on the premises.  Please do not leave scraps behind.

GAS BBQ - if you use the BBQ and utensils, please ensure they are cleaned after use and the gas bottle turned off and returned to its original place. A cleaning fee of $30 will be deducted from bond if not cleaned.

CLEANING - it is the tenants responsibility to ensure the premises are left clean and tidy.  Extra cleaning and furniture moving charges will apply @ $35 per hour.  All breakages, appliance failures etc must be reported to owner as soon as possible.

PERSONAL PROPERTY - no responsibility is taken for personal property being left behind.

NUMBER OF TENANTS - must NOT exceed the advertised number.

USAGE - the premises shall be occupied solely for residential purposes by the tenants and invitees.  The premises will NOT be used as a venue for social functions, including but not limited to weddings, parties, receptions, stag/hens parties or schoolies gatherings.

ANIMALS - are strictly prohibited unless otherwise approved at the the time of booking with the owner.  Strict terms & conditions apply.

NUISANCE - no person on the premises will indulge in conduct that is a nuisance to neighbouring occupiers.  EXCESS NOISE IS NOT PERMITTED AFTER 10PM under any circumstance.  

SMOKING - is prohibited inside the premises.

PARKING - is only permitted in the garage and driveway.   Parking on lawns or on neighbouring properties is prohibited.  

DESCRIPTION - property descriptions are of a general nature and are made in good faith.  The tenant agrees to accept the property as described.

PRIVATE AREAS - any area of the property which is found to be locked and for which a key is not supplied is private and not for tenants use.  Anyone gaining access to a private area shall be found in breach of this agreement and legal action taken.

 

 

 

 

Beautiful Barfleur beach is right across from Retro Sands. Only minutes from the house is a boat ramp and Plantation Point, a grassed area featuring a kid's playground, picnic tables and BBQs. A new walking path in front of the house links up the various beaches of the bay.

Jervis Bay has something to offer everyone, beautiful beaches, boasting the whitest sand in the world, national parks, water activities such as sailing, diving and snorkelling, dolphin and whale watch cruises, boutique shops, and delicious dining options .
