Shambhala, the Sanskrit word meaning “place of peace” or “place of silence” perfectly describes this amazing retreat.

According to ancient texts, Shambhala is a mythical paradise – and right here on the Coffs Coast, Shambhala at Sapphire Beach is where you can experience your own piece of paradise.

Shambhala  is a sophisticated and contemporary 4 bedroom house offering total privacy, absolute quality and elegance. This architecturally designed home is only a minute’s stroll to Sapphire Beach, and just a 10 minute to drive to Coffs Harbour.

It’s a retreat for those looking for peace, privacy, security and luxury. A beautiful home that overlooks the sapphire waters of the coast – just delightful.

The main floor of the house is ideally equipped for indoor and outdoor relaxation, cooking and dining. At the centre, is a beautiful open plan living area where you can unwind with a book or your favourite music.  Adjoining the living is a kitchen to delight any chef, with Miele electric oven, dish washer, steam oven, dual zone wine fridge and double door fridge and freezer and butler’s pantry. With seating for 10 at the indoor dining table, everyone can dine in comfort.

Stepping outside to the courtyard, you’ll find a private courtyard and tropical 14 metre salt water swimming pool overlooking the ocean and Solitary Islands Marine Park. Here you can enjoy a casual meat prepared in the outdoor kitchen – complete with integrated BBQ, dishwasher and bar fridge. An outdoor setting with seating for 8 makes entertaining a breeze.  Also on this level, is a bedroom with private ensuite that can be arranged with king bed or two king singles, depending on your needs.

Upstairs in the family pavilion you’ll find a comfy lounge area with retractable cinema screen for the home theatre. There is also a powder room for your guests.

The large, main bedroom has a king bed, spacious ensuite with spa bath, glassed shower alcove and a double basin vanity, walk-in wardrobe, outdoor seating and views to the ocean.

Along the corridor, are two queen bedrooms with views to the ocean and outdoor seating on the deck. They share a generous Travertine tiled full bathroom with frameless glass showers and heated towel rails.

Louvered windows throughout the house provide excellent views and ventilation, and the home also has reverse cycle air conditioning throughout. The ground floor houses an electronically operated 2-car garage and plenty of storage space.

Terms & conditions

To secure a booking a 50% deposit is required. Bookings are not confirmed until this deposit is received. Payment of the rental deposit constitutes the clients acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

Balance of the rental amount must be received no later than that stated in our confirmation email to you.  Please ensure payments are made within the specified time limits or the booking will be cancelled and the owner has the right to cancel the booking and attempt to re let it.  If your deposit is paid by credit card then final payment will automatically be deducted from that same credit card 30 or 60 days prior to your arrival unless otherwise notified in writing by the cardholder.

Cancellation if caused by the client, money paid is not refundable unless the house is re-let for the entire period for the same amount. If a refund is made due to the property being relet then a $50 cancellation fee will apply.

The owner reserves the right to make alterations to bookings due to unforeseen circumstances.

A bond amount of $1500 is required upon arrival by credit card.

To maintain a good standard for our guests we require certain conditions to be complied with. We appreciate most will respect our property but the occasional abuse requires that we state the following conditions.

Number of Guests at any time should not exceed the number stated on the Confirmation Notice or subsequently agreed in writing or email.  Fees will apply for excess guests not agreed with the owners in advance.

Parties,  Functions and Weddings are strictly prohibited. The price charged is for domestic use only and not commercial. Accordingly this rate does not allow for the extra wear associated with functions in terms of cleaning, garbage removal, wear and tear, repairs etc. Use contrary to this may result in loss of your bond and/or additional payments.

Cleaning – Your tariff includes a standard clean, however should any additional cleaning be necessary, or the accommodation has had smoking inside, then any charges will be debited to your credit card. Any breakages, damages and excess cleaning items are to be paid for.
Charges will be imposed if the accommodation is left in an unreasonable condition, eg:
- Dirty dishes and unemptied dishwasher
- Rubbish not removed from the accommodation and disposed of in the outside bins
- Soiled or stained bed covers, rugs, upholstery etc.
- Lost or damaged remote controls
- Misplaced keys
- Extra will be charged for hand prints on walls/glass.

Damage, Breakages, Theft and Loss are the tenant’s responsibility during their stay.

Departure – the property should be left in a similar state to its condition on arrival.

The property is available from 2:00pm on the day of arrival and are to be vacated no later than 10am on the day of departure unless agreed otherwise.

Disturbance to our neighbours, including excessive noise, is prohibited and may result in termination and eviction without refund, extra charges may be made for security and other expenses.

Linen is to be supplied by the owner.

Pets are not allowed unless specific arrangements have been made in writing with the owner.

Loss – the owners take no responsibility for the tenant’s personal property.

Variations to these conditions may only be made by prior arrangements with the owner in writing.

"Luxury and convenience all in one!" So happy with our stay at Shambala. Monique is so easy to deal with and very quick to deal with any requests or problems we had. The property itself is just beautiful and definitely big enough for everyone to have their own space and not be on top of each other. The pool is awesome for the kids and you can’t ask for more with a kitchen and butlers pantry that is so well planned out that everything is within your reach when needed. The beach is just down the road and Coles only a 5 min drive away. Would recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing getaway. Thanks Monique! See you again soon!

"Incredible stay" This has to be by far the best beach house I have stayed in. The house was absolutely beautiful, spotless, and very well stocked. Close to the local shops and beaches, incredible views, comfy beds, plenty of space- just cant fault it. The host was also easy to communicate with, and was very responsive. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

"Stunning home in a lovely location" I had a stay recently with my extended family and this is an amazing house for a group. We had so much room to spread out and loved the pool area. Great entertainment rooms with a lounge and separate media room so we weren't fighting over the one TV. Bedding was a bit of a challenge with a number of teenagers, it could do with another bedroom with single beds. Overall the location was lovely for a relaxing stay with a short walk to the beach. It's not far to shops or cafes although not walking distance. Monique was very responsive and helpful. Thank you we really enjoyed our holiday.
