Old Hillside Homestead is a charming 120 year old fully self contained cottage set on 160 acres with its own renowned 150yr old vineyard close to major and boutique wineries some in walking distance.

The perfect place to relax, put your feet up, enjoy a good bottle of local wine and unwind on the front verandah overlooking one of the oldest producing vineyards in NSW .

The Homestead offers comfortable affordable accommodation for 4-8 people and includes:

House rules

Just two hours from Sydney and centrally located in Pokolbin on Marrowbone Rd makes Old Hillside a perfect place were you can relax and enjoy the delights of Pokolbin.

From Cessnock town centre, take Wollombi Road heading west for a kilometer, then turn right opposite Sylvester's Bakery into Mount View Road.

Continue along Mount View Road past the High School and around the sweeping right hand bend at Kelman Vineyard. You will come to a roundabout at the entrance of Kelman Vineyard, where you should turn left into Marrowbone Road.

Drive past Saddlers Creek Wines on your left, past Hillside Vineyard on your right (no, that isn't us ... we are Old Hillside Vineyard), and keep going past Elfin Hill Motel and McWilliams Mount Pleasant Wines.

As you climb the hill past McWilliams, you will see our entrance at the top of the hill on the left. Look for a white letterbox with Old Hillside Vineyard (N & B Stevens).

Turn here, follow the lane into the property and down the hill. Old Hillside Homestead is on the left.

Office hours are 8am to 7pm.

Terms & conditions

we have a two night minimum stay for midweek and weekends and three nights for long weekends

cereals, fresh milk, tea,coffee, jams and plunger coffee are supplied plus a complimentery bottle of our Glen Oak Wine

Breakfast Hampers can be order for an extra cost

Cancellation Policy

1. cancellations outside 29 days of arrival are 100% refunded to client

2. cancellations between ( & inclusive of ) 28 days and 14 days of arrival date no refund applies to client unless we are able to resell the Homestead

Check in time is anytime after 10am, and we have a late check out of 1pm on request

What a fabulous homely place to stay. We had a group of six adults with plenty of room and food for all. I would definately recommend this accommodation and would love to return.

Stayed here previously and there is nowhere better in the Hunter valley if you want a lovely old farmhouse, fabulous views and a perfect relax. The cows roaming nearby and wonderful friendly farm dogs makes it feel just like "home"! I thoroughly recommend staying here - but almost want to keep this little secret all to myself. The Homestead was awesome!!! The fireplace was great with all the firewood included, a gourmet breakfast hamper with fresh eggs delivered first thing and a complimentary wine only made the stay better. You feel like you are miles away from everyone yet you are right in the heart of the Hunter with wine, cheese and much more right there. We would all definitely come back again and I would recommend The Homestead to anyone and everyone!
