Little Tern Beach House is a contemporary new home with a neutral design that complements the coastal environment. It is situated opposite New Brighton Beach which is an open beach with space to roam.
This light filled and airy home has a tranquil tree-top ambience. The layout has 2 bedrooms, both with private fashionable ensuites. An open-plan kitchen / dining / living space which opening onto a large deck. There is an easy flow between enjoying the pleasure of being on the deck or creating shared meals in the kitchen. A set of wide stairs leads down to the carport under the house, and a smaller deck off the kitchen area has wide stairs leading you down to the winding garden path, out the wooden gate and acrossthe road to the beach. Perfect.
Guests have access to the entire house. It is situated between the north arm of the Brunswick River and the ocean, so there is a choice of fishing, surfing and swimming in the ocean, or kayaking, swimming or fishing in the river. The wide decks offer the perfect space for your yoga practice or excercise workout. Then of course there are the iconic red lounges for simply stretching out and really enjoying your holiday!
New Brighton is a 20 minute drive north of Byron Bay, a quiet neighbourhood shared by local residential and holiday houses. The primary focus of this place is the beauty of the river and beach. The beach is not patrolled and can get rips, though is generally fairly safe. It also has a dog, off-leash section. The mouth of the Brunswick River known as North Wall, has a sandy swimming beach along the rivers edge. There is a local shop which also runs as the Post Office, and the leafy Yum Yum Tree Café is situated about a 500m walk north of the house. A local farmers market is on each Tues morning 7.30-11am, just opposite the cafe and is the main gathering each week for the community to celebrate the abundance of the region.
Ocean Shores Country club is 2 minutes drive south, it has fabulous views over the ocean as well as a spectacular golf course. Ocean Shores also has a regular shopping centre. Brunswick Heads (5 mins south) is a vibrant coastal community that still retains a village atmosphere. It is a great place to picnic with family and friends. It has stylish and quirky shops, very good cafes and restaurants and a lovely pub with a large beer garden and live music.
New Brighton is part of the Northern Rivers Rainbow Region. The area lies on the rim of an ancient volcanic caldera near the sea, with mountainous lush rainforest, cane fields, dairy & agriculture. There are spectacular national parks & state forests such as Mt Warning. Nat Park and the Whian Whain State Forest.
The area is well known for its creative arts and is fortunate to have the Tweed Regional Gallery, which now houses the Margaret Olley Art Centre. The gallery is in Murwillumbah which is only a 25min drive north on the tweed valley road.
Tweed Heads, Coolangatta and the Gold coast are a ½ hour drive to the north on the M1 freeway. The beach house is a 30min drive from the Gold Coast airport and 40mins from the Ballina airport.
