We had a lovely stay at Paper Bark Shack despite 6 inches of rain in 24 hours which put a slight damper on things!! On the other days we were there we managed some beautiful walks along the great beaches. Paper Bark shack is in a perfect location for a seaside holiday, when you just want to relax and get away from it all.4/5 by , Somerset UK
Very nice, close to beach. Beautiful area. Dogs loved it.3/5 by , QLD
The grounds were kept beautifully. It was a perfect place to stay. So quiet and gorgeous. A real find.5/5 by , NSW
Proximity to a dog friendly beach and lots of great walks4/5 by , NSW
The property was grubby. I don't mind basic but I do expect clean. The lounge was should be replaced.3/5 by , QLD
Very nice, and had every thing we needed, great bed, and pet friendly5/5 by ,
Recently I travelled up the coast from Sydney to Brisbane with some friends from Europe. I wanted to show them as much of our country and our way of life as I could in the short time we had. When I saw the cabins advertised, I thought immediately of my childhood holidays, and felt this was a spot that I should take my friends to. We weren't disappointed. The cabin was a comfortable 21st century version of everything I loved about my holidays - quiet location, wildlife, friendly people and the sounds of waves at night. On top of this was the thoughtful decoration and nice touches like chocolates and flowers left for us.My friends were quite taken with the location, and being able to walk through to the beach. The owners are professional and friendly to deal with, and gave great instructions on how to find the place which worked well, even though we arrived after dark!5/5 by ,
We stayed here as a half-way break when driving from Brisbane to Newcastle. The property is small but very clean and nicely fitted out and in a great, quiet location right next to the beach. It's a five minute drive to the centre of Woolgoolga for restaurants, shops etc. There is a nice grassy area between the house and the beach which was perfect for our chihuahuas. Will definitely stay here again.5/5 by ,
Quiet surrounds and the wonderful walks to the beaches which we enjoyed with our dog. The fact we could take our dog on the beach.4/5 by , VICTORIA
Listening to the ocean while falling to sleep, what a wonderful feeling. Tried to go for a walk next day, but because of all the rain, it was too wet. Our dogs loved it though.3/5 by , NSW
The proximity of Mullaway beach is awesome and the surrounding areas to 4WD and investigate are also fantastic. Great place for our pup to be with us 24/7 which we all enjoy. Ive stayed at the Beach Shacks a few times and love them very much, however I must admit that the sofa beds may need replacing in the near furure, possibly with a more robust units for both the Shacks, It would also be time to replace pillows and doonas, I'm sure they too have had there use by date confirmed by the countless visitors to the shacks... they're just little things, but it's these little things that make the big difference. Very peaceful & great place to unwind, relax & easy walk along the beach, Our dog loved it & settles in every time we stop over.4/5 by , QLD
Great place to take our two poodles. We find it very hard to find reasonable accommodation that will allow dogs, that was the main reason for booking. Very quiet, close to beach and listening to the waves at night. Lovely place.3/5 by ,
Access to the beach and privacy5/5 by , QLD
A nice place to stay and the owners were very helpful. Would highly recommend to others.5/5 by , NEW
The best thing ...being able to have my dog with close to the beach it was great, only negative..not long enough!I was in need of a break, and whilst it was necessary to take my elderly Mum with me, it was an excellent place for her as well, and it allowed me to spend time on the beach alone with my dog. The streets surrounding the Beach Shack were very quiet and I felt very safe doing that 'last minute dog walk' before bed.I will certainly be back and I have recommended the shacks to many of my friends who have dogs and find it difficult to get away from home for a break. The Shacks are close enough to Woolgoolga to pick up food/dine out or just have a nice coffee...found a great restaurant that had fabulous muffins and great coffee! So again, 'Darcy' and I will definitely be back!!4/5 by , NSW
It was a lovely space for our intended use which was reading, cooking, beaching, fishing and exploring.. fabulous wild life and wonderful drives through the forrests and bushland.. BBQs everynight and some mornings.. both of us and our pup were so well rested after a week of bliss, we were secretly wishing we had booked 2 weeks.. we shall return, there is no doubt about that. This is a great location being just a few metres from the ocean beach nestled amongst a rich cover of native vegetation. It is also in a very quiet area away from the hustle and bustle that is typical of some of the other towns up here. The cottage is clean, well presented and fitted out for the basic requirements of the traveller.5/5 by , VIC

The beach shack was very comfortable.4/5 by , NSW
I am hesitant to write this as I do not want the secret out - it is such a magical place and the Shacks just perfectI will definitely be staying there again and this time for a longer timeThe dogs loved it as well as settled very quickly5/5 by , NSW
Dog friendly & the fact that we could bring our family pet inside, it made her & us feel more at home. Being able to give her a good run on the beach, off the leash, was also a benefit after being in the car for 7 hours.5/5 by , QLD.
It was a perfect place for just me and my dog to have some peace, some exercise and get some creative work done on the computer with nothing but the sound of the birds and the surf to interfere.5/5 by , NSW
We had a terrific time at The Shack, it was very comfortable, and very close to the beach which was enjoyed by myself and my two dogs. We also enjoyed the daybed and had a few naps out there in the sun.4/5 by ,
Very cosy but had all the necessary features and was beautifully decorated and positioned so close to the most beautiful beach. Comfy for all including the dog!4/5 by , NSW
Modern, comfortable and well designed. A walk to the beach and shop. Would love come back with friends (in other cabin) for a longer stay next time.4/5 by , NSW

Very pleasant spot but not the easiest to find.4/5 by , NSW
Lovely property. Neat, clean and tidy in a beautiful location.4/5 by , NSW
One of the nicest places we've stayed at for ages. Great to be able to have the dog stay with us, and so close to the beach. Will definately be staying again, hopefully for longer next time.5/5 by , NSW
Nice quiet location, warmly welcome after a long drive. Not too far from the highway for those driving long distances. Plenty of room to explore and very very close to the beach (you can hear the waves from the property!). Great place to take our dog there and the facilities for pets are helpful (eg. dog run, bowls).4/5 by , QLD
We found it easy to locate the property and the facilities met our needs. It was great to have a place where we could take our little dog and even though we only stayed the one night up and back from Queensland we would love to have a longer stay at "Paperbark" sometime in the future.4/5 by ,
A little beach cabin so close to the beach. A lovely surprise. Its been fully renovated. Very comfortable bed and good quality linen and towels. The cabin was spotless. Our little dog loved the garden and huge grass area to explore. We fell asleep listening to the waves crashing on the shore. We will return.5/5 by , NSW
very clean and tidy, only 200 meters to the sea where the dogs have a nice run4/5 by , QLD
The privacy and distance to a lovely, swimmable beach. Lovely walks and safe. Not a far drive to shops and other entertainment if the weather is not good.Thanks5/5 by , VIC
We love the Beach Shacks because they are newly renovated and clean. There is a grass run for our dog which leads to the beach where he can run off the lead. Fantastic.5/5 by , NSW
Good for me, good for him and good for the dog. What's not to love about The Beach Shacks? We are going back to stay for the 3rd time, he goes surfing, I go diving and the dog streches out on the porch waiting for her next run on the beach.5/5 by , NSW
Had a lovely stay - what's not to like? Old fashioned beach shack holiday - right on a quiet, private beach, lovely little cabin, and our little dog loved it too. We'll be back!5/5 by , QLD
