~ Four-legged friends Welcome ~

The Moonrise Studio Apartment at ‘Longbeach Clifftop Retreat’ offers a perfect self-catering, coastal holiday for up to four people and your four-legged friend. The cozy and bright coastal accommodation is separate to the main residence and provides ocean glimpses, space for 1 car, plus it may be possible to park a small boat. Well-behaved dogs are permitted inside the apartment and are also welcome at the local beaches just a few minutes walk away down from the clifftop.

The apartment provides open-plan accommodation, which includes a fully equipped dining/kitchen/laundry area, lounge and bed areas plus a separate bathroom. There is a washer-dryer combo, oven-stove, fridge-freezer, microwave and many other useful kitchen appliances that will delight any cook in your party (help yourself to fresh herbs from the garden). The lounge area includes a very comfortable queen bed, double sofabed with quality futon mattress, large Smart 3D-TV, Blu-ray Player with DVD Library with a few 3D Titles, CD Player and Alarm Clock with iPhone4/Pod/iPad dock.

There is an outdoor area with table and benches, gas BBQ and ashtray if required. The area is currently unfenced so for now, we offer guests a long, strong rope for your four-legged friend to be safe while oudoors.

Care has been taken to incorporate sustainable and natural materials that aim to reduce harmful effects on the environment wherever possible.  Australian-made furniture, natural-fibre mattresses, Australian woolen quilts, pillow selection and hotel quality cotton linen have been carefully chosen for your comfort, as well as their ecological benefit.  Appliances have been installed for their energy and water efficiency and lighting can either be bright or subdued and though the residence has air-conditioning, the ceiling fan can make use of the soothing summer sea-breezes.  Complimentary hairdryer and bathroom toiletries are supplied and there are kitchen and laundry cleaning products if you wish to clean and tidy your apartment from time to time throughout your stay. These products have been chosen for their environmentally-friendly credentials and we encourage recycling and offer a compost bin for food scraps to help feed our hungry worms.

Driving Directions

From Canberra

Approximately 2 hours from Canberra’s GPO.

As you approach the roundabout at Batemans Bay, take the 1st exit and drive North along the Princes Highway for about 4 kms, then just after the ‘Overtaking Lane Sign’, turn right into Cullendulla Drive (which turns into Long Beach Road) and drive for more than 3.5kms, then turn left onto Northcove Road for approximately 1km and the accommodation is on the right-hand side of the road that skirts the coast.

From Sydney

Approximately 4 hours drive from Sydney’s GPO.

Drive south along the Princes Highway to approximately 47kms south of Ulludulla, then just after the Petrol Station on the right, turn left at Cullendulla Drive (which turns into Long Beach Road) and drive for more than 3.5kms, then turn left onto Northcove Road for approximately 1km and the accommodation is on the right-hand side of the road that skirts the coast.

From Melbourne

Approximately 9 hours from Melbourne’s GPO.

Same directions as for Canberra but go straight through the roundabout at Batemans Bay.

Minimum Stays

Low to High Seasons ~ Minimum two nights stay for up to four guests.

Peak Seasons ~ Minimum 7 nights stay for up to four guests.

Bed & Bath Linen

Bring your own Bed linen and bath towels with you or Hire Sets for $20 per person/per stay. The Bed & Bath Sets contains 1000 count cotton top sheet, bottom sheet & pillowcase/s plus a cotton bath sheet, hand towel and facecloth. The hire service ensures beds are made up with hotel quality linen before your arrival – and provides a little extra luxury!

Please bring along your own beach towels!

Doggy Do’s & Don’ts

  • Please note that the Moonrise Studio Apartment is not currently fenced, but we can supply a long rope if you wish to tie up your dog while you are enjoying the outdoor setting and BBQ together.
  • Food and water bowls are supplied for your convenience but Guests need to supply their own dogs’ bedding.
  • Please do not allow your dog on the furniture and beds and use a plastic bag to clean up any doggie droppings outside the apartment, surrounding areas, beaches or on the cliff top (ask Jaki if you require extra bags).  
  • Please take your dog with you when you leave the apartment .
  • As you are probably aware, Paralysis Ticks are present in the South Coast and you should consider providing your dog with prevention treatment, which should be administered 48 hours before arrival to provide for the best protection!

Check-in is between 14:00 and 20:30 and Check-out between 10:30 and 11:00.

Property Policy

1.. Children aged 4 or over are welcome.

2. Well behaved dogs are welcome indoors but not allowed on the furniture and you need to supply their bedding.

3. Wireless internet is available and is free of charge.

4. Smoking is only permitted in some of the open air areas.

5. Please keep noise to a minimum after 11pm.

7. Guest Parking is available on site and is free of charge. 

8. Complimentary basic Pantry Items, Sukin Toiletries and Eco-friendly Cleaning Products are included.

Payment Conditions
A deposit equal to 50.00% of the stay is required.
This deposit will be refunded if cancelled more than 14 days before arrival.
Full booking balance must be paid 14 days before arrival.

Cancellation Conditions
If a booking is cancelled less than 14 days before arrival then a charge equal to 50.00% of the stay will be made.
In the event of a no show or booking reduction (after arrival date) a charge equal to 50.00% of the stay will be taken and the remaining amount will be refunded.

We stayed 2 weeks at Moonrise Retreat and had a fantastic time. Jaki was a very friendly host and gave us lots of suggestions on what to explore in the area. If you are interested in sea food, arts and crafts, wild life, hiking or mountain biking, snorkeling, surfing or fishing then this place is perfect for you. Moonrise Retreat is very close to beaches and also next to the Murramarang National Park what we enjoyed a lot. That also lead to lots of visits of beautiful birds right in front of the kitchen window :) The Cottage was the perfect size for a couple like us having a long term stay. Much more spacious than expected and plenty of storage in the living area and kitchen to unpack your suit cases and store your groceries. It was clean and we could not spot one dog hair ;) The space had everything we needed (e.g. washing machine, dryer, fully equiped kitchen with stove and oven, fridge, air con, BBQ...), especially great for a longer stay. The bed was also very comfortable and Jaki even gave us choices of different pillows. We also loved the newly installed window blinds that gave that little bit more privacy during the day but still kept the room wonderfully bright. We would always come back. Thank you Jaki, for a wonderful time!
