Briardale, a member of Hosted Accommodation Australia Ltd and Accommodation Association of Australia, is  Albury's finest  fully hosted Bed & Breakfast. Located in a quiet area of Albury, NSW, Australia, Briardale is the ideal hub for exploring our historic city and surrounds. Our home is situated on the original grounds of Briardale Orchard, established in 1919 by the Heathwood Family. Breakfast ( 07:00 - 09:00 ) is served in the Dining Room where tea, coffee & snacks are available throughout the day.  Please note that  Briardale is not "hi-tech" - we do not have Pay, Foxtel, Austar, satellite or cable TV, we do have free wireless internet throughout the house and Free-to-Air TV in your room. There is no television in the Parlour.

All Bedroom Suites are ABOVE STAIRS ON THE FIRST FLOOR - each feature a private bathroom ( ensuite ), Queensize brass bed with deluxe mattress and fine quality manchester, comfy Doonas & electric blankets in Winter, antique dressing table, individual airconditioning units, LCD television, convenient USB ports and wardrobe. All Suites are spacious, very quiet, serviced daily and have views over the old cottage gardens and Heathwood Park. The bedrooms do not contain refrigerators or tea/coffee facilities - these are available from the Dining Room and kitchen.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT ALL BEDROOMS ARE ABOVE STAIRS ON THE FIRST FLOOR.

Briardale has a Liquor Licence for your convenience, our cellar is stocked with a selection of beers & Australian & imported wines to be enjoyed either indoors or outside in the quiet and peaceful garden.

Please note that children can only be accommodated in the existing bedding configurations, ie, 1 Queen size bed per suite, no other bedding is available. Our Suites cater for a maximum of two persons per room.

We regret that pets cannot be accepted due to Health Regulations.

Parlour & Dining Room

Breakfast is served in the Dining Room which has views to the garden through the bay window. It is furnished with antiques, quality tableware and is airconditioned. Enjoy a hearty, full cooked breakfast to start the day or if you prefer, a substantial continental offering. We are licensed for your convenience with Australian and imported beers and wines available.


The guest Parlour is a beautiful and relaxing room, with antique furniture, deep comfortable armchairs and sofa, airconditioning and a lovely view of the garden through the bay window. Browse a selection of reading material and relax on the window seat. You may wish to select a local or French wine from our cellar to enjoy as you relax. There is no television in the Parlour.

Booking Policy

   A valid credit card is required at the time of booking to secure the booking.
Person making the booking must be 18 years old or over. We accept cash, Visa & Mastercard. 
Every effort will be made to provide your Suite of choice but we reserve the right to alter this for operational purposes.

Deposit Policy

   There is usually no charge made to your Credit Card until check-in, but in some circumstances a deposit will be held, equal to one nights tariff. Your Credit Card is pre-authorised as a deposit. You will be notified by email should there be a problem authorising your Credit Card to secure your booking.

Cancellation Policy

   We ask that you contact us before 4pm one (1) day prior to stay to advise of any change in arrival date and we will do our best to work in with your changes, but please read & understand our "No Show Policy". Guests are advised to purchase adequate Travel Insurance.

No Show Policy

   If no cancellation or amendment has been made by 2pm one (1) day prior to stay and you fail to contact us or show up at the property, we will charge the total tariff for the number of room nights booked.

Child Policy

   Please note that children are welcome at Briardale but can only be accommodated in the existing bedding arrangements, ie, one Queen size bed per bedroom and will be charged at the appropriate rate. No other bedding is available for children. Our Suites cater for a maximum of 2 persons per room. Children must be under supervision at all times.

Other Conditions

Due to Health Regulations, pets cannot be accepted, the exception being Assistance animals.                                     

Briardale has a "No Smoking" policy within the house.
Guests are requested :-
Not to increase the number of guests in their party without approval from your hosts. 
Not to cause any damage to any property, fittings or fixtures. 
Not to hold any party or function without consent of your hosts. 
As a guest you are liable for and indemnify us against all loss or damage , including legal costs on a full indemnity basis, incurred or suffered directly or indirectly in connection with the use of our Property by you or any of your guests. 
You will be required to provide valid credit card details on arrival. This will authorize your hosts to debit your credit card to recover the cost to us of any of the above. Your credit card may be debited without prior notification to you.

Due to Health Regulations, guests are not permitted to use the kitchen for cooking purposes.
Payment of a deposit, payment in full or validation of a valid Credit Card upon booking a room is acknowledgement & acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Briardale is located in a very quiet and tranquil area away from main road noise and the centre of Albury, whilst still within walking distance of all amenities - we have extensive gardens and overlook Heathwood Park and Bungambrawatha Creek - you are assured of a peaceful and relaxing stay.

Briardale Bed & Breakfast is ideally situated for the International Traveller, we are about a 3 - 4 hour drive north of Melbourne or approximately a 5 - 6 hour drive south of Sydney on the A31 - why not break your journey and visit a wonderful and beautiful part of Australia and relax in Alburys finest B&B. The following directions relate to travel on the A31.

Albury is well serviced by road, rail & air. Qantas, Regional Express & Virgin Blue all connect frequently at Albury Airport. Interstate bus lines link at the Railway Station where directions to Briardale are available from the Albury Visitor Centre located in the Station Masters House.


From Melbourne, ( Victoria ) take the 4th Freeway Exit which is marked "Racecourse Road Exit", turn left, then left again at the round-about, continue West along Union Road for 2.5kms - you will see the Northside Hotel in front of you on your right - continue along Union Road through this intersection for 1.0km, turn right into Diggers Road, being careful to veer right at the median stripahead to continue on Diggers Road, turn at the next left into Sunwood Drive, then right into Poplar Drive. Briardale is last on the right overlooking the Park, at the intersection of Poplar and Briardale. At night time you will see reflectors on a tree and the footpath and the house lights will be on until 10pm - they will also come on automatically as you enter the property. The small pedestrian gate near the two sets of driveway gates may be open for you - if not there is an intercom to use. Proceed to the front door, press the door bell and enter the house, we will meet you and open the driveway gates for you, as all gates are electronically secure.

If you miss this exit you can take the next, which is "Thurgoona Drive" exit and follow the above instructions.

From Sydney, ( NSW ) take the 1st or 2nd Exit. We recommend the 1st exit.

The 1st is "Davey Road" (sign posted "To Jindera"), turn RIGHT to go over the Freeway, then turn LEFT onto Wagga Road #31,  this is the "Old Hume Highway", continue for 8.5kms to Union Road - you will see the Northside Hotel on your right and a car dealership on your left - turn right at this intersection on to Union Road and continue along Union Road for 1.0km, turn right into Diggers Road, then follow the above “From Melbourne directions”.
The 2nd exit is "Thurgoona Drive", which takes you to Wagga Road, follow the above directions. Should you have any difficulty finding us, please give a quick phone call.
