Bellingen Lemon Myrtle Farm Stay is located on a working farm just five minutes drive from Bellingen. The farm grows Lemon Myrtle and Aniseed Myrtle trees which we distill into essential oils, and use in our soap. We use the leaf as tea and spice. We also grow other bush foods including Davidson Plums which we make into jam, and Lilly Pilly berries which we turn into cordial. All products are available to buy. We also breed specialty Dorper sheep.
If you want to get away from it all and still be close to town this place is for you.
The cabin is self contained and solar powered, off the grid. It has a kitchenette with gas cook top and kettle as well as a basic bathroom. There is no microwave, oven or power points due to not being linked to mains electricity. We have a small gas fridge. It has a queen bed and bunks. Further bedding is available upon request. There is no internet/wifi.
We provide milk, tea, coffee, muesli as well as our hand made soap made with essential oils grown and distilled on the farm.
The property is located on a tidal billabong which used to be the Bellinger River until the 1950 flood which changed the course of the river. The billabong links to the Bellinger river. We supply kayaks so you can kayak the beautiful Bellinger river. We regularly go fishing and crabbing. Jewfish, Mangrove Jack, Bream can be caught around the corner. Punt available for fishing. Depending on the tide you can swim in the billabong or kayak out to the river to swim.
