Depending on why you're wanting to get away, whether you're looking for the perfect place to elope, or the ultimate setting for the most romantic proposal, The Bower has lots to offer. You may be planning your bridal preparation prior to a South Coast wedding, or to celebrate a your honeymoon, babymoon, a special anniversary or birthday. The Bower can also be the perfect parents retreat to rejuvenate in a kid free zone, or "Re-Capture the Magic" in your relationship. Whatever the special occasion, these architect designed luxury cabins [we call them 'Bowers'] are equipped to celebrate romantic getaways which you can cherish for years to come. See a selection of our previous guest reviews for special celebrations.
The Bower is a secret gem that allows you to indulge in the privacy of your own 'Bower' which is sited about 100 metres [yards] away from any other building. Privacy is what The Bower is all about ! The accommodation is luxurious, but there's a very relaxed atmosphere at the Bower, so that you can totally unwind from the stresses of modern life. The Bower is set amongst a natural forest within a secluded part of the 'Nature Coast' or mid South Coast of NSW, Australia.
The Bower has been described as 'stylish accommodation immersed in a natural forest' in other words glamping 'camping in luxury', providing luxury facilities, yet is set amongst over 40 hectares [100 acres] of natural forest which adjoins the Illawong Nature Reserve. These 2 properties combine to form an important habitat [for long necked turtles, amongst many other species] linking freshwater & tidal wetlands. All in all, the Bower comprises a private and natural holiday retreat designed specifically for adult couples, in a very special romantic setting, close to Batemans Bay on the South East Coast of Australia.
Located just over 1km from the blue Pacific Ocean and close by the major tourist attractions of the Eurobodalla Nature Coast including its beautiful beaches, temperate rainforests, Mogo Zoo, the Murramarang, Deua and Montague Island National Parks wilderness areas and the Batemans Marine Park which protects the habitat and provides sanctuary for whales, native birds and other native wildlife. The Bower is close to Canberra and also a convenient stopping point for touring the Sydney Melbourne Coastal route. If you're considering breaking up your coastal drive between Sydney and Melbourne, and you don't want 'timeshare' type accommodation, a stop at The Bower and a second stop at The Moorings at Metung might be worth considering.
The Bower is ideal for a range of fun things todo, including bushwalking, birding [or as a base camp for anything from] sea-kayaking to horseback riding [in some cases, to the beach] or simply browsing the local craft shops & galleries interspersed with a great coffee and a gourmet snack at one of our local cafes.
With the help of the Federal Government, thru a T-Qual grant, administered by Austrade, we have also just completed a major re-furbishment project on one of the Private Spa Bowers, the Gold Bower. This has enabled us to retro-fit many of the enhancements that we included in the Premium Spa Bowers, e.g. R/C Air Con, separate shower recess from spa bath, stone kitchen benchtops etc. as well as many more of the enhancements that have been suggested by our guests. e.g. underfloor heating in the bathroom, screening outside the spa window along with updating the facilites to the state of the art.
Each bower is located at least 100m apart separated by a screen of natural bush. This unique accommodation is enhanced with the 2 person spa, a genuine wood fireplace and a fully self-contained kitchen and BBQ facilities enables Bower guests to be completely self-sufficient, if you choose.
If you're looking for luxury Boutique accommodation on South Coast then this may suit you.

You can access the Eurobodalla area via the King Highway [from Canberra] the Princes Highway or the Hume Freeway/Kings Highway from Sydney or Melbourne.
This part of the South East coast of Australia is increasingly being recognised as the "Eurobodalla Nature Coast" due to its natural environment and prolific wildlife. The Bower itself is situated midway between the coastal country township of Moruya [which is 30 minutes North of Narooma on the Princes Highway] and the popular fishing and holiday resort town of Batemans Bay, one of the most popular holiday resort towns on the South Coast of New South Wales.
Broulee village is flanked by 2 excellent surfing beaches separated by Broulee Island, which is a dedicated nature reserve to preserve its fauna, flora and the remnants of the original Broulee settlement. A brief history of Broulee the 'Village by the Sea' is available in your Bower. Broulee is also very close to a range of other popular beaches including Barlings Beach, Malua Bay and Surf Beach with popular surfing spots such as Pink Rocks accessible from Broulee Island. In between these surfing beaches, you'll find lots of smaller beaches that remain largely deserted for much of the year, except for the major holiday times at Christmas and Easter.
