Facilities and Services

Country Full Cooked Breakfast

One enjoyable part of the country experience is a hearty hot breakfast cooked to your taste and we pride ourselves in providing a nourishing wholesome meal.

Where possible the produce is local with local fruits in season and fresh sourdough bread baked daily in our own country kitchen. Delicious jams and marmalade come from the local Southern Highlands Cuttaway Creek Strawberry Farm. We use fresh eggs from our own laying chickens on site. Seasonal summer fruit platter or stewed seasonal fruits with muesli and organic yoghurt are included in the accompanying continental breakfast with variety of loose leaf teas and your preference of coffee either plunger, filtered or espresso to start the day.

A daily breakfast menu is prepared and specific orders can be placed the night before.  For special dietary requirements please advise when booking so we can cater accordingly.  It is our policy to allow people to take any food supplies from the breakfast table for morning tea or lunch including fruit, and a thermos for hot water with tea bags is available free of charge for taking out to picnics.  All bottled water, bottled and canned soft drinks and beer in the bar fridges within each suite are complimentary.  Tea and coffee served at breakfast and throughout the day are made from local filtered water.

The Lynam Billiard Room

The Lynam Billiard Room is named after the original owner of Menabillie Manor, Reginald Lynam.  Several of his photographs of his winning racehorses at Sydney race meetings in partnership with Tommy Smith as trainer are hung in the billiard room. Recently the original sign for the Menabillie - Hereford Stud and Stables was recently found under the house together with 30 framed racing photos of winning horses but unfortunately only twelve frames could be restored.  Feel free to play billiards, snooker or pool with TV facility and also to enjoy some complimentary, and complementary, port from the oak barrel.  Guests are invited to select a book or two from the well-stocked library. The fireplace in the billiard room has been converted into a gas heater so it may be helpful to ask your hosts to warm the room, which only takes a few minutes, before going down stairs.

There are several balconies to follow the sun throughout the day to enjoy, subject to the weather, your country full cooked breakfast or to relax with a refreshing wine and cheese platter or tea or coffee and freshly baked scones with jam and tea in the afternoons.

From Canberra:

Take the Hume Highway to Sydney and taking the Berrima exit. It is a scenic and beautiful drive. Proceed through the quaint village of Berrima along the Old Hume Highway. Ascend the hill north of Berrima but ignore the first sign on the right to Bowral and proceed for approximately 5 kilometres along the Old Hume Highway. Just after the divided road ends take the turn off on the right to Bowral, which is Centennial Road. You will pass Centennial Vineyards and then Craigieburn Resort on the left and approximately half a kilometer further on the first street on the right is Merilbah Road. Menabillie Manor is the last house on the right.

From Bowral:

At Bowral Railway station cross over the railway line and turn right into Kirkham Road. Follow the railway line north and take the third street on the left which is Mount Road.
