Bantam Cottage

Bantam Cottage is a lovely 100 year old, pet friendly cottage and is the ideal house to make your home for a few days. The cafes, restaurants and wonderful shops of Berry are only a leisurely two minute stroll around the corner.

The heart of the cottage is the sitting room which has a beautiful open fire, laid and just ready to light in winter. It is a cozy place to laze in front of with candles and a bottle of red wine or toast marshmallows with the kids.

There are beautiful polished timber floors throughout scattered with rugs for warmth. The kitchen has an oven, stove, all the utensils needed, and a range of basic pantry items are supplied.

The main front bedroom has a queen bed while the second bedroom has a double bed. Both beds are made up with fresh linen and bedding and have electric blankets. Soft fluffy towels are also supplied. A single inflatable mattress is available if required.

The toilet and bathroom are separate with the bathroom having an easily accessible shower but no bath.

The front verandah looks out over the town to the hills behind and is a lovely place to watch the world go by while at the rear of the house is a large deck overlooking farmland and a quiet rural scene. This catches the morning sun and is a peaceful place to enjoy a morning tea or coffee.

Pets are welcome in the house and the back yard is fully fenced and secure with large shade trees.

Directly across the road is the wonderful Berry Sourdough Bakery with its delicious food, coffee and wood fired breads.
The wonderful shops, cafes and restaurants are only around the corner and 2 minutes walk away.

Gabby's reception centre is also only a two minute stroll down the road.

Pet friendly

A perfect family getaway - pets are welcome too.

The back yard is set with large trees and lawn and is securely fenced, and can be accessed from the deck or down the side of the house through gates. The front fence and gate are only a metre high and enclose a small cottage garden.

Berry and the surrounds.

Very cozy, clean and perfectly located. I have already recomended to family and friends. Loved all the home decor, its a home away from home. We could have stayed longer.5/5 by ,
The fireplace, charm, lovely host, house with character, home away from home & convenience, fabulous bakery opposite and markets & shops walking distance. The children loved it and visit to zoo4/5 by ,
My husband and I stayed at the Bantam Cottage during the June long weekend with our little Cavoodle puppy and it was such a pleasant stay. The house is well furnished, clean, cosy and in a very convenient location across the road from Berry's famous Sourdough Bakery. Will definitely stay here again!5/5 by ,
Location was great. Yard for our dogs was great. The cottage was clean well maintained and well setup.Yy5/5 by ,
All the touches like fine fresh flowers, chocolates and the styling of this old property were lovely. It had a really good feel about it in a quiet area even though it was only just off the Main Street.5/5 by ,
The location - very close to the centre of Berry but quiet. The deck was lovely for breakfast. Lots of character5/5 by ,
Our stay at Bantam Cottage was comfortable and very handy in terms of location within Berry proper and also for day trips around the Illawarra region. The cottage itself was very clean, neat and cosy and the well fenced backyard is ideal for young children and pets alike. There is no onsite parking but despite this, we had no trouble parking right outside our rental home each day. The beds were comfortable and the linen supplied plentiful. All our preliminary communication with the owners was friendly and prompt. The flowers and chocolates were a welcoming touch. We would have to rate the Cottage itself as homey but basic, with reference to kitchen (no microwave and only a small fridge),a small and simple bathroom, unfortunately off the kitchen and a very basic single toilet. There were no laundry facilities. There was a tv, a selection of DVD's and a cosy and comfortable living room for the evenings, complete with fireplace for winter and electric fans for summer. The back patio with BBQ was a lovely place to sit and enjoy the quiet and the rural views. All in all, a well presented cosy home, ideal for a small family or up to 2 couples to have a lovely, short break.3/5 by ,
Great property but it was noted that there wasn't a microwave in the kitchen - which should be made available to guests. Would like to suggest that ceiling fans be installed or an air conditioner, as it was very hot during our visit, and only small fans to assist in cooling.4/5 by ,
A delightful little cottage just perfect for ourselves and our little dog. It was so close to all the shops in Berry and only 10 minutes drive to a dog friendly beach. The garden is completly fenced so we didn't have to worry about Bella escaping. The house itself is old but very neat and tidy with everything you need for comfortable stay.5/5 by ,
We would recommend the cottage as a lovely quiet home away from home. We love the relaxing feel of the cottage and the great fenced yard for our dogs. The cottage is very well kept and clean. The location is quiet and right in the heart of Berry. The facilities are in good order. There is a deck at the back and a barbecue and a relaxing area to sit and read. We will definitely like to return again. This is our second stay and it was just as good as our first visit.5/5 by ,
I love to visit Berry and I especially love to stay at Bantam Cottage it's a home away from home. The cottage is so welcoming with flowers, chocolates, firewood and comfortable beds. The proximity to town is fantastic you park your car out front and just walk to town, markets, restaurants etc. This was my fourth stay and the standard has always been fantastic. I have brought my dog on occasions the yard is fully fenced. I will be back again for sure and I recommend it highly. Thankyou Janet and Mark for letting out this little gem.....Brenda & family & four legged family members ...woof woof5/5 by ,
As advertised this was a perfect little cottage to bring the family dog to. Our dog loved running around in the garden. What was most enjoyable about the stay, however, was the careful consideration which had gone into the decor which gave the place a light and airy yet rustic feel. Plenty of milk and tea bags were also provided so we could share a cup of tea as soon as we arrived. For people who are planing to visit with a dog, the nearest off-leash area is not fenced and I recommend a trip down to Culburra Beach where we had a wonderful afternoon.5/5 by ,
This little cottage impressed me the moment I saw the front gate, it may or may not have partly been due to the lovely mango tree hanging over the front lawn. The whole place has a quiet charm about it, even a little unusual. What impressed me the most was the option of bringing my dogs to a yard with apple and mandarin trees, which they thoroughly enjoyed sniffing and moving about, while we watched from the balcony.... Reading back on this, I swear I am not being paid :) That is all.5/5 by ,
We recently stayed at Bantam cottage for two nights over the Xmas period. We were 2 adult couples and 2 pooches and had loads of room. The cottage has everything you need and is nicely decorated,  fans in the bedrooms kept the heat at bay and the cottage would also be great in winter with a cozy fireplace and sitting room. The kitchen is small but we managed to have breakfasts and lunches and as we were out for dinners it didn't hamper us at all. There is a lovely back garden and our two pooches enjoyed the space to romp around. The deck is roomy and has a BBQ so I'm sure that if we were home for dinners we would have used the BBQ and deck.We will definitely be staying again, the cottage is really very cute and comfortable and close to the Berry high street so a perfect location for everything Berry has to offer.Janet the owner is very quick and efficient with responses and made our stay that much more enjoyable.5/5 by ,
We arrived very late (11.30pm) due to car problems. We notified Owner we would be late. It was a very cold night to our delight we walked into a lovely clean Cottage with a light on and the electric blanket warming the bed. Stay made even better because we could take our little dog Monti. Plenty of quality dining establishments. No need to cook.5/5 by ,
Love the style of the property. Old country rustic charm. Great back deck overlooking rural landscape. Highly recommended William5/5 by ,
Proximity to the centre of Berry. Ideal location close to beaches , kangaroo valley and more.5/5 by ,
The cottage is very basic but cute and clean and close to the town centre. The owner was very accommodating and provided firewood for the colder weather. It was the cheapest accommodation of its kind that we could find in Berry, and considering this, was good value for money.3/5 by ,
Perfect for our stay with our small dog4/5 by ,
A cute comfortable clean little cottage, I half expected my Grandmother to walk out with a tray of scones. My wee dogs loved the garden. Recommended.4/5 by , ACT
The cottage was spotless, with a great feel to it. Beautiful polished floorbaords thoughout, plenty of storage space and both bedrooms were large, an open fire completed the ambience. It was also totally secure for our little dog -she had a great time! We will definately stay there again on our next trip to Berry.5/5 by , NSW
Location was perfect - right across the road from the famed Sourdough Cafe and easy walking distance to town for shopping. We only used our car to drive to Gerroa to walk along 7mile beach and that was only 10mins away through beautiful countryside. The cottage was terrific. Clean & comfortable. Safe backyard for both puppy & 3 yr old.4/5 by , NSW
